136. Conflict of interest at AR!

Note: here's the long pending chapter, and as some of its draft was written around 2 years ago, please bear with me if the flow isn't consistent. Also, read with a pinch of salt for legal matters.

He had been in charge of delivering breaking news for this channel for last 15 years now! So many people tuned in each evening just to hear him announce the day's biggest sansanikhez (sensational) headlines. Among his loyal viewers were names like businessman Mr. Bambani, superstar Amitash ji, and the ever-graceful Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada. She had apparently been following his show way before she became the wife of the young business magnate Arnav Singh Raizada. Over the years, he had gotten exclusive rights of giving so many news related to their lives (only after ASR's approval of course). Their holidays around the world, their children's births and so on.

Which was why, he, the famous news anchor Kamlesh Khabri, was reluctant to give this breaking news today. But given the pressure from channel and the kind of content the news had, he had no option to deliver it.

'Allegations have surfaced against the Raizada Group. Sources claim that the famous business group may have shown favoritism towards Gupta Foods which is owned Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada, in all recent food supply contracts.'

Kamlesh leaned back in his chair, exhaling slowly and apologized to Khushi ji in his mind. She would be so hurt. He hoped they prove the news wrong. The first time he wouldn't feel bad if he was sued even!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, a completely oblivious Arnav Singh Raizada finished his last meeting of the day, not knowing he was accused of doing 'quid pro quo'!

Neither did Khushi tune on her favorite news show today. Chiku had a ton of homework which needed her help and Pari had caught cold so she constantly asked for Khushi. In all this, she didn't know what had just been broadcasted about her and her husband!

Arnav had a long day today. There were back-to-back reviews that needed him to be super attentive, and the day had ended with a meeting with his HR head about some dispute about some contract they had signed and then cancelled. He asked her to email it to him and shut his laptop. Finally, he couldn't wait to go home and get some tender loving care from his Khushi.

However, 5 minutes (now 6) since he came home, she had remained elusive, not even paying heed to his calling out her name, that too twice!

And finally, as he got impatient and decided to barge into their kids' room to see if she was there, she appeared through the door. With that sweet smile of hers! Damn it. How was he going to continue to sulk now, when she smiled at him so sweetly? Should he smile too, maybe a little?

And as he was having this debate over how much curvature of his lips was adequate to respond, she had reached him and had already started removing his tie, followed by his suit jacket.

His arms automatically went around her, pulling her closer.

"Arnavji, bacche yahi hai (Kids are around)." she whispered.

Her reply only made him tighten his hold and ensure she wouldn't run away again. Or perhaps he had sensed some upcoming storm in their lives!

Meanwhile, she blushed at his action, and then caressed his face, "Kya hua? Aaj kafi kaam tha kya (did you have a lot of work)?"

"Hmm."

"Accha, now leave me, I will get coffee for you."

He shook his head in denial, "Stay here for 2 more minutes."
