60. AR faces losses -Part 1

That afternoon, Khushi had wrapped-up her work in Gupta foods sooner and headed home. Surprisingly, despite the festival season being around the corner, her workload was manageable. Hmm, maybe her staff had done a good job. She mentally patted herself for her correct selection and hiring of good team.

She picked her daughters on her way back home, while Chiku and Piya's school had still few hours to go, and the trio reached Shantivan.

"It's mamma and daughters' day for us today, my shona babies. Isn't that great?" she said helping them out from their car and led the toddlers to their room, holding their tiny hands in her each hand and headed for getting freshened up.

After a very happy lunch including desserts of a pile of jalebis and some cupcakes for Aru, she had put them for a nap. But she was not feeling like sleeping. So, adjusting the a/c temperature, securely wrapping them in a comforter, she tiptoed out from kids' room to her bedroom and switched on the TV. Coincidentally, she turned on a news channel where they were showing Arnav's press conference from that morning

'Country's famous businessman Arnav Singh Raizada announced a joint venture with a Paris based fashion house 'La Grâce' today. This is arguably India's biggest fashion house project where two big companies from India and France are joining hands together. Khushi felt a surge of pride as she heard that report with Arnav and other officials from both AR and 'La Grâce' in the background. Of course she knew about this project from Arnav since a few days. Even Akash and mamaji had been talking about and it was supposedly a big deal for AR and a prestigious one. And she had no doubt this will be yet another success story for AR and add feathers to her husband's cap!

"Why do you need to watch me on TV when you can just turn around and kiss me?" Arnav said, hugging her from behind, keeping his chin on her shoulder and she startled at his sudden presence there. He knotted his hands across her midriff and she soon melted in his warm touch, keeping her hands on top of his.

"Aap bhi jaldi ghar aa gaye (you also came home early today)?" she said turning her head

He smiled a little before loosening his grip, "yeah, actually the company representatives postponed our meeting so had a free afternoon. What better than spend some 'quality time' with my beautiful wife?" he said and she turned around, looping her arms around him now,

"accha? Good decision Mr. Raizada. By the way, this company already started postponing the meetings? You haven't even started properly yet right?" she voiced her doubt

"Yeah, I also found it weird. But you know na how these foreign companies work, they believe in spending less time in office and more time relaxing. It's their culture." he said, and they dropped the topic at that, as Pari's cry called for their attention

2 Weeks later

Khushi could sense Arnav's changed behavior from last 2-3 days. For example, he always looked in deep thought at any given moment, he had no attention while on lunch and dinner table, after he came back from work he spent all time talking to his kids which involved coloring with Pari, hide n seek with Aru and cycling with Chiku. The problem was, he never even once attempted to sneak out and take a work-related call or open his laptop to write an email and she will have to scold him to give attention to her or kids. It was as if he was AVOIDING work, and that was alarming!
