Khushi stared after Garima's retreating back while Chiku once again pulled her hand, "mamma! Chalo na!"

She looked at him and Pari, both had innocently but surely hurt their nani in their demand for getting Khushi's attention.

Khushi lifted Pari in her arms- who was just a few months away from turning 5 yet weighed like a doll, and asked Kavish to come with her for whatever that he needed her for.

As expected, it turned out to be a very small reason- he wasn't able to locate his favorite pencil that had an eraser at its back!

Khushi sighed in irritation and went to his room that was adjoining theirs, and opened the small cupboard that was especially custom-made for ASR's son to keep his books, school materials etc. She moved a few things aside and easily located the said object!

"Ye wali, hai na (this one, right)?" she asked, walking back in her bedroom where both her kids were now playing with each other, happily having forgotten that they just stole their mamma from her amma.

Chiku's eyes shone in joy, and he took it, "Yes! Thank you, Mamma. See, that is why I wanted only you!"

Khushi decided this was time to make them understand what they did downstairs was not done.

"Pari, chiku, aap dono ne abhi sahi nahi kiya, beta(You did not do right, baby). I was talking to your nani, you should not have asked her to go, Pari. And you should have looked for this pencil on your own, chiku." Khushi said, in a little strict voice, which indicated how upset she was.

"But I really wanted you, mamma!" Kavish said in a protesting tone, trying to justify his actions.

Pari nodded, vigorously, agreeing with her Chiku bhaiyya.

Khushi sighed and kneeled in front of her son and daughter. "Chiku, Pari, abhi aap ki nani thodi sad hai, thodi beemar bhi hai, aur unhe abhi unke bacchon ki zarurat hai (your nani is a little sad right now, a little unwell too and she really needs her kids)."

Both the kids were listening to her intently but perhaps not fully agreeing to it. So, she had to make them see why it was not done by giving her own example,

"Who are her kids? Me and payal maasi, right? Like your mamma feels better when you are near her, when you and your Chiku Bhaiyya, Aru is near her, your nani also feels better when we are with her. Just like I am your mamma, she is my amma. And just like you don't like to see me sad, I also don't like to see my mother sad." she said, noticing how her kids' faces showed realization.

"Did I make Nani sad?" Kavish asked in a low voice, not meeting Khushi's eyes.

Pari also frowned, realizing her mistake.

"Maybe a little bit."

"Sorry." Both kids said in unison.

Khushi smiled seeing that and pulled them closer in a hug.

"Koi baat nahi, but please be nice to your nani from now, ok?"

Both nodded, earning a kiss each from their mamma.

It was the next afternoon. Arnav was not at all able to focus on work that day. Because something that happened the previous night had made him very disturbed.

No, not that matter, in fact, he wasn't even in a mood to 'perform' last night, despite khushi's open invitation!

The reason was he had overheard a disturbing conversation between Shashi and Garima followed by a 'gift' that they gave him.
