Doorway

"Why do we always let Lance choose?" Pidge asked over the coms as the green lion swooped over the blue one.

"Because I died." Lance beamed.

"You're never gonna stop using that against us are you?" Keith grumbled.

"Nope."

"Well, he did die." Wanda reminded.

"Still, not helping." Keith admitted.

"Yeah we don't need to add any fuel to the fire." Shiro chuckled. "Let's just focus on this mission."

"Yes sir."

"Are you all ready paladins?" Allura asked as she appeared on the screens.

"We are." Hunk answered. "Let's go find ourselves some Avengers."

Lance chuckled as the other lions all darted forwards towards the slight seam in space. A place where theoretically they should be able to enter.

"Your team is pretty cool." Bucky admitted.

"They're more than that." Lance assured as he took ahold of the controls. "You might wanna hold on."

The rift opened with a helping hand from the castle.

They emerged into the rift, or at least they could assume it was the rift.

Swirls of colours and crystals seemed to come from everywhere. Within the shards we're the reflections of the lions but they looked different in each fractal.

Like someone had drawn them in different styles.

"This is weirdly beautiful." Hunk whispered.

Lance's hand moved to the com system. "Coran?"

"Right here number 4." Coran answered. "We hear you loud and clear."

"Number 4?" Bucky frowned.

"Coran gives us numbers based on our heights." Pidge appeared on his screen with a massive grin. "Doesn't he Lance?"

Lance glared at her.

"Yeah, but since he was in your universe for 2 years the order changed a little." Hunk chipped in with his own sly smile. "Right Keith?"

"Hunk's 1, Shiro's 2, I'm 3 then it's Lance and then Pidge." Keith responded, his screen came on. "Cause I'm half Galran and one day might even be taller than Hunk."

"Wow, you guys are really petty sometimes." Sam commented.

"I literally cannot imagine you that tall." Lance admitted rubbing his face.

"Yeah, well... You....bett- get.... To..."

"Keith?" Lance sat upright. "Sam?"

Static.

"Coran?"

Nothing.

Glimmering light from the shards scattered over the blue lion, the controls glitches in and out.

Lance turned to get up when he found himself alone in the cockpit. "Bucky?"

He watched as Bucky appeared, disappeared then reappeared in a flicker.

Bucky's hand caught his shoulder. "What just happened?"

"Don't know." Lance admitted. "Hey Blue, can you do a scan?"

Blue roared, and instantly a scan came back, but it kept flickering, adjusting.

"Guys?" Pidge asked. "Can anyone hear me now?"
