Eggman's Base - 8:22 a.m.

"Do we dare?"
"And have our circuits ripped from our hands, again? I'll pass."
"Uh, I don't think it was that bad last time. Maybe the time before but-"
A wrench is thrown at the yellow, square bot before the human focuses on the computer once more. Eyes narrow behind his glasses as he reads over the monitor. Just last night there had been a spike in that ominous reading belonging to Sonic's stalker, but it had just vanished suddenly.
Elbows are placed on the large desk and Eggman intertwines his fingers together, resting his chin atop of them. 'Last night there was that reading, an incredible amount of chaos energy and a mixture of the two before they all dispersed."
It couldn't have been Shadow. The Ultimate Lifeform was here with Eggman's metallic family and from what Shadow had told the doctor, everyone else was too much of a coward to face that stalker. So the question stands: who was running interference? But more importantly, where did all of that energy go-
There is a small red light beeping on the doctor's monitor. Zooming in on it, a groan leaves the back of Eggman's throat from seeing the location is at the rodent's house. Ugh, why can't that fuzzball just leave him to his musings?
"Father?" Sage floats over the human's shoulder before she pulls up a more detailed view of the home. The red dot beeps where Metal Sonic and Sonic had seen each other. "It appears to be coming from his bedroom."
Glowing red eyes dart to the side as Metal Sonic looks towards the monitor. The red dot is indeed on top of his copies room.
"It's faint, but there's still some lingering energy from that stalker there." Eggman swivels in his chair and taps his fingers together. "Sage, send out a single scout bot to go in that room. I want details on the rat's nest place by brunch, got it.?"
"As it were, father." Sage bows and disappears in a blue and white light, going back into the main computer.
"Depending on what we find, Metal," Eggman turns to said robot and rubs his chin. He may be acting too hasty, but with all of these weird energy spikes shooting all over the play then he will not lose it. He will do what it takes to obtain said energy. Once he has it, he'll see if it's worth using or not. "-then I'll send you out to collect whatever it is."
Red eyes slightly move side to side, conveying his message to his creator. He still refuses to speak, especially from what happened once he touched that flower a few weeks ago. He shouldn't be able to feel things other than his hatred for that loathsome copy, but that event that had happened, Amy being kidnapped and Sonic rescuing her, why was he not there to stop the hero?
"Don't sass me, Metal. I know of my... records in dealing with eldritch beasts and otherworldly energies. This is just a small sample." Eggman looks up and rubs his chin in thought. "On second thought, it may be too dangerous for you to collect it. It had been causing you to act so, well, not you these last few months-
"I will go, doctor." Metal Sonic finally says. His tone deep, monotone yet serious. He needs to go. He needs to find answers about why this thing has been calling to him. He needs to know if it's the reason he had that...unsightly memory.
