JENNIFER'S POV | TIME SKIP

I got ready—I wore a workout shirt and running shorts. All black, kasi parang gusto ko mag-all black today.

I stood in front of the mirror, tying my hair into a high ponytail.

Then my eyes dropped.

My neck.

I froze.

"...Shit."

I quickly grabbed my concealer, dabbing a small amount and blending it carefully over the faint marks.

"Hindi halata... hindi halata..." I muttered, tilting my head side to side to check.

After a few seconds—

"...Okay na," I whispered, letting out a small breath of relief.

I stepped back and grabbed my phone and keys.

"Nasa baba na ata si Aiah..." I mumbled as I headed out.

The afternoon sun wasn't too harsh—just enough to warm the air as I stepped outside the building.

And there she was.

Aiah.

Leaning casually near the entrance, dressed in a simple workout set, hair tied neatly, looking... annoyingly fresh.

Like she didn't just wake up with a hangover.

"Hi," she greeted, a small smile forming on her lips.

"Hi," I replied, walking toward her. "You've been waiting long?"

She shook her head. "No. Sakto lang."

A short pause.

Her eyes scanned me—quick, subtle, but I caught it.

"Ready?" she asked.

I nodded. "Yeah."

We started jogging side by side, the rhythm slow at first. The park wasn't crowded—just a few people walking their dogs, some doing stretches, others running past us.

For a few minutes, it was quiet.

Just footsteps.

Breathing.

The sound of leaves brushing against each other.

"Hangover?" Aiah suddenly asked.

I let out a small laugh. "Halata ba?"

"A little," she said, smiling softly.

"Grabe kasi kagabi," I muttered. "Napadami."

Aiah hummed, like she expected that.
