THIRD PERSON POV

Jennifer looked at the stack of files sitting neatly on her desk and sighed, shoulders sinking.

"Work, work, work..." she muttered under her breath, dragging a finger along the edge of the folder. "Parang wala na akong pahinga."

She sank into her chair, staring at the papers as if they were a mountain she had to climb again. Her pen rolled lazily across the desk, and she caught it with her hand before it fell.

For a moment, she thought about Maloi's teasing grin and Colet's sharp eyes earlier. Both moments made her chest feel strangely heavy in different ways.

Jennifer exhaled, shaking her head. "Focus ka, Reyes. Files muna, feelings never."

With that, she pulled the first folder closer, flipped it open, and forced herself back into work.

"6:30 out ko if I'm done with these files..." Jennifer murmured, checking the clock on the wall before pulling the first folder closer.

Her pen glided across the page, neat and precise, as she worked one by one. Each tick of the second hand reminded her of the dinner she promised her kuya later.

"Deadline before downtime," she whispered to herself, biting her lip in determination.

She stretched her neck side to side, tied her hair a little tighter, and leaned forward—eyes sharp, brows furrowed. Piece by piece, she buried herself in the numbers, refusing to let exhaustion win.

The office around her was quiet, the hum of the aircon the only sound, but in her mind, the clock kept pushing her forward.

"6:30... kaya ko 'to."

Meanwhile, Stacey barged into Jhoanna's office without knocking, waving her phone.

"Jho, her mom texted. Sabi niya, 'how's Jennifer working?'" Stacey announced, her tone casual but her eyes glinting with amusement.

Jhoanna's pen slipped slightly from her hand as she looked up, startled. "Alam mo naman, marunong mag-knock, no?" she said with clear irritation, brows knitting.

Stacey rolled her eyes dramatically, leaning against the doorframe. "Ugh, fine. Sorry na, Miss Formality." She smirked, then lifted her phone again. "So... ano ba sasabihin ko?"

Jhoanna leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms as she gave Stacey a long, thoughtful stare. "Sabihin mo the truth... na she's fast. Efficient."

"Eh di parang pinupuri natin siya?" Stacey frowned, lips twisting in annoyance.

Jhoanna sighed, shaking her head. "You don't get it. We have to answer. Her mother's influential, baka magduda if we say something negative agad. Play it smart, Stacey."
