The lights dimmed, and a hush slowly fell over the grand venue. Conversations faded into soft murmurs as a single spotlight illuminated the stage, casting a warm glow that drew everyone's attention forward.
"Everyone, please be seated," the host announced smoothly, voice echoing through the hall.
Chairs shifted. Glasses clinked softly. The energy changed—this was it.
Sophia leaned slightly toward Jennifer before stepping away. "We'll talk later," she whispered, her tone light but intentional.
Jennifer gave a small nod before taking her seat gracefully. Meanwhile, Sophia walked back to her own table, joining her circle of friends like nothing happened.
But the eight girls?
They were watching.
Closely.
Every move. Every glance. Every interaction.
Something about that "ex-suitor" comment still lingered in their minds.
Then—
"Please welcome Mr. Sevino Yu Reyes!"
Applause erupted across the venue as Sevino stepped onto the stage, his presence commanding yet warm. He adjusted the microphone slightly, smiling at the crowd before him.
"Thank you, everyone! Good evening," he began, his voice confident and smooth. "I'm truly honored that all of you are here tonight to celebrate this special milestone with us."
He paused, letting the applause settle.
"Tonight marks the official launching of our newest condo-hotel project—a vision that started as a simple idea, and now stands as a symbol of growth, hard work, and trust."
He glanced around the room, pride evident in his eyes.
"This wouldn't have been possible without the incredible people behind it—our partners, our team, and of course, all of you who continue to support us."
A soft murmur of agreement filled the room.
Then—his tone shifted, softer. More personal.
"But more than that..." he continued, a small smile forming, "I want to take this moment to thank someone very important to me."
Jennifer felt it.
The shift.
The attention.
