Weeks had slipped by almost unnoticed, the days weaving together in a rhythm of soft mornings and quiet nights. Stacey and Callista had fallen into the comfort of living under the same roof—not just as lovers, but as fiancées.

Callista glanced at her wristwatch. Still early. She leaned back on her chair, tapped her pen against the desk, and suddenly thought of Stacey. A small smile tugged at her lips. Without a second thought, she stood up, grabbed her phone, and walked toward the door.

The moment she stepped out, Gelo's sharp eyes were already on her.

"Where are you going, boss?" he asked, his voice calm but tinged with curiosity.

"Stacey," she said casually, smoothing out her blazer.

Gelo tilted his head slightly, clearly processing, before giving a slow nod. "Got it. Ingat."

Callista walked down the corridor, her heels echoing softly against the polished floor. A few employees she passed gave her knowing smiles, some whispering just loud enough for her to catch fragments—"Miss Lopez... Atty. Stacey..."—but she ignored them, too focused on where she was headed.

ATTY. STACEY'S OFFICE

"Ugh, dami naman neto..." Stacey muttered under her breath, eyes darting between piles of contracts, case notes, and highlighted sticky notes. Her hair was tied up messily, a pen tucked behind her ear, and frustration evident on her face. She rubbed her temple, groaning as the lines on the page blurred.

A knock came.

"Come in!" Stacey called out, not looking up right away.

The door creaked open.

"Calli?"

Stacey's tired eyes instantly brightened at the sight of her fiancée standing there. Callista leaned casually against the doorframe, her soft smile making the stress in the room melt away.

"Hi," Callista said simply, stepping inside and closing the door behind her.

"Baby," Stacey greeted warmly, standing to her feet despite the mountain of paperwork. She walked over, her arms immediately wrapping around Callista's waist. She buried her face in her fiancée's shoulder with a sigh of relief. "You're like... my break, my peace, all in one."

Callista chuckled softly, hugging her back just as tight. "You looked stressed. I thought maybe I'd visit and distract you a little."

"God, please distract me. These documents are literally eating me alive." Stacey pulled back slightly, giving her a dramatic pout.

The attorney sat back down on her chair, still refusing to let go of Callista's hand. Her thumb traced idle circles over Callista's skin as she tilted her head up, eyes soft and pleading.
