THIRD PERSON POV
The morning sun reflected off the glass façade of Lim Holdings Tower, casting streaks of gold across the towering skyscraper that dominated the city's financial district.
Luxury vehicles arrived one after another, their passengers welcomed by uniformed attendants before disappearing through the revolving doors. The atmosphere inside the building was calm yet tense, as though everyone understood the significance of the meeting about to take place.
Executives from Lim Holdings and Monteverde Corporation gathered inside the executive boardroom, exchanging courteous greetings while legal advisers organized thick binders filled with financial reports, contracts, and projections.
At the head of the table sat Eduardo Lim, the retired chairman of Lim Holdings. Though he had stepped away from the company's daily operations years ago, his presence alone commanded respect.
To his right sat his daughter.
Mikha Lim.
At twenty-four, she had already earned a reputation as one of the country's youngest CEOs. Dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, she silently reviewed the merger proposal before her, occasionally jotting down notes with a silver fountain pen. Her posture remained impeccable, her expression unreadable.
Across from her, the Monteverde family occupied the opposite side of the table.
One chair, however, remained empty.
Alessandra Monteverde.
The digital clock mounted on the wall ticked past nine.
A few executives exchanged discreet glances.
"Has Ms. Monteverde arrived?" one of the directors asked quietly.
Her father glanced at his phone before shaking his head.
"She'll be here."
No further questions were asked.
Outside the building, a silver sedan came to an abrupt stop beneath the entrance canopy.
The passenger door opened.
Alessandra Monteverde stepped out, clutching a bouquet wrapper folded neatly in one hand. A gentle breeze caught loose strands of her dark hair as she looked up at the imposing Lim Holdings Tower.
Only an hour earlier, she had been kneeling before a marble gravestone on a quiet hillside cemetery.
Fresh white lilies rested against the stone.
"I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer, Lola," she had whispered with a small smile. "I have an important meeting today."
She brushed a few fallen leaves away before standing.
