-Mayah's POV-
I slumped gloomily into the car seat as my mom pulled out of the driveway.
"Lighten up, hon. It's just a new school, it's not a big deal," my mom tried to comfort me.
I sighed. "Yeah. But there's new people, new reputations, new teachers, new everything! I don't like to start fresh! I miss my old school," I huffed like a five-year-old.
"On the bright side, there are new boys. And you complained about how unattractive and annoying the boys were at your old school," my mom told me.
I shrugged. "True,"
The rest of the ride was silent.
Once she pulled up to the school, I unlocked the door and unbuckled my seatbelt.
Hopping out, I shouldered my backpack and took a deep breath.
"Mayah," my mom called. I spun around.
"If you do meet any boys, just remember that Dylan and Connor are very intimidating. Remember what happened to Luke?"
"Mom! The past is in the past! What if they've changed?!" My mom raised an eyebrow at me.
"Yeah, they haven't changed one bit. But if I do bring a boy home, make sure they aren't near sharp objects!" I tell her.
"Okay! Bye sweetie!"
"Bye mom!"
She drove away and I took a deep breath.
Here goes nothing.
