-Mayah's POV-

I rolled over, checking my phone.

3:47 AM

I groaned, as I kept tossing and turning. I've been trying to sleep for hours and I can't drift off into an escape.

The fight replayed at the back of my head on repeat for hours. There's nothing I can do to stop it. I can't stop thinking about it and I can't help but blame myself. My biggest regret was taking him back.

I eventually gave up and grabbed my phone.

I scrolled through twitter, hoping to find something that will take my mind off Hayes.

Unfortunately, the only thing that was going on was all of Hayes's fans getting mad over another break up.

I looked at the trending hash tags and saw #RIPMayes was the #1 most trending topic.

I sighed and opened my messages, involuntarily clicking on my conversation with Calum.

To: C-Dizzle: Hey, are you up?

From: C-Dizzle: Yeah

To: C-Dizzle: Can you call me?

From: C-Dizzle: Yeah sure, hold on

A few seconds later, I got an incoming call from Calum.

I immediately pressed the answer button and held the phone up to my ear.

"Calum?" I squeaked out.

"Mayah? What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.

"You know how I told you that Hayes and I broke up again?"

"Yeah,"

And then I told him everything.

Flashback

"Hey, Mayah?"

"Yeah?" I told Hayes.

"Can you bring me some food?"

"Um, no. Get it yourself,"

"But, isn't that what girls are for?"

"Excuse me?" I demanded.

"I'm just saying, isn't the girl supposed to what the man says?"

"In the 1800's when women weren't considered equal!"

"That's like, 200 years ago! Nothing really has changed,"

I stood up, fuming. "Is this a joke?!"

"No. Why are you so mad? I only asked for food..."

"Lies!" I screamed. "Why are you being so sexist all of the sudden! This is not the boy I trusted, this is not the boy I care about and this most definitely is not the boy I fell in love with!" I stepped closer to him, searching into his bright blue eyes. "Who are you?" I ask, my voice breaking.

I spun around, about to leave. Hayes grabbed my wrist, his fingers squeezing it.

"Hey! Let go!" I tried to yank myself free but he was too strong.

"No! You will not walk out of this room!"

"And why not?! Why would I want to stay here?! What else could you possibly say to make this any worse?! What would you like to tell me that is so important?!" I screamed.

Pain shot into my cheek. I looked up to him, horrified, his grip loosened on my wrist and his eyes softened. "Oh my god. Mayah, I'm so sorry," he breathed, taking a step toward me.
