“It's ok.” Paige swallowed, lying. “I didn't expect him to want to come anyway.” Skip stroked Paige's cheek, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
“I would never give you up.” He told her. “I'll still come to your performance.” Paige looked down to the ground, staring at her toes. She knew if she looked him in the eyes, the part of her that may of partly fell for him, would fall for him again.
“Thanks.” She tried to remain as uninterested as possible, although her heart was racing.
“You know, my offer still stands, me and you being an item. I'm up for it, if you are.”
“I know.” Paige replied, bowing her head down.
“Can I, watch?” Skip asked, blushing and pointing to the photo shoot area. She laughed.
“No! Read about it in a magazine or something!” She was shy enough with just the camera men and the manager of Royal Starr in the room, along with Lorenzo. She had to be as professional as possible.
“Alright. Don't worry Paige, I'll fill up the rest of the seats.” Skip winked, walking off, staring at her as he walked away. She smiled, biting her lip to stop herself looking so obvious. Shaking her head, she turned around to see Danny waiting for her.
“Look, I know you don't want some random seeing you in next-to-nothing, but your boyfriend can, can't he?” Danny asked, winking and wrapping his arm around her. She smiled, and she knew that he had her in a trap. She couldn't refuse him, it would be all over the news. Especially after what he had said in David Letterman.
“Danny?” She asked.
“Yeah babe?” He replied. She rolled her eyes, he took their relationship so seriously. But she knew that he was the kind of guy, that if he let his cover slip for a second, he would blurt out everything.
“Have you got any of those, text messages? Ever since Beau and I broke up?”
“Do you want the truth?” Danny asked. Paige nodded, resting her head on his chest. “I haven't.”
“Do you think that means something?” Paige asked him. “Honestly.” She added. He chuckled slightly, holding her tighter.
“I think so. Maybe whoever was sending the texts, just wanted us to be together? And now that we are, there's nothing left for them to do, so they've stopped? I think they're pretty smart if you ask me.”
“What!? How do you mean? They're evil!”
“Yeah, but we would be a pretty cute couple. You know, if you were ever thinking about it, I'm still up for it.”
“What about Sam?” Paige asked, slightly shocked. She still had a feeling of guilt and betrayal, for Danny, that he could even think of dating her. Danny swallowed hard, and wiped his eyes before any tears could escape. He spoke softly, and reassuringly.
“I never thought I would have to say this Paige, but he's dead.” Paige nodded, she knew he was right. But still, she expected him to walk around the corner at any moment, to tell her how much he had missed her and ask for her back. She was finding it so hard to come to terms with the fact that he was actually, truly gone.
“Where's Skip?” Luke asked, walking around the house.
“Who cares?” Beau asked, taking another gulp of beer.
“He went out to get a new phone, didn't he?” Jai asked, running through the house.
“What are you doing?” Sally laughed, lay on the couch.
