To Question My Innocence

Beau smoothed down his shirt. It was a flannelette shirt, open with a grey shirt underneath. He was wearing his vans and baggy denim jeans.

“Should I buy a tux?” Beau asked, worriedly.

“It's fine.” Paige laughed.

“Maybe you should buy earplugs?” Luke joked.

“And a balaclava so nobody knows it's you.” Jai added.

“Or he could just be a good boyfriend and see how it does.” Skip retorted snappily.

“He is a good boyfriend.” Paige said, hugging him.

“Keep your nose out.” Beau threatened Skip.

“Come on, he's going to be waiting for us!” Paige exclaimed.

They arrived at the house as the sun set in the sky. Paige checked the time on her phone, 6:50. Her dad was going to be pleased, he loved it when people were early. They knocked on the door to their holiday home, and waited for a reply. Brian opened the door, smiling wide when he noticed the two of them together.

“Good evening Mr Arrows.” Beau said nervously, sticking his hand out to be shook. Brian just laughed.

“Paige showed me your YouTube videos. This isn't you. I'll shake your hand to be polite but you don't have to pretend to be this way.” Brian shook his hand and then walked into the house, expecting them to follow. Beau took a deep breath and followed after Brian. “The others are out.” Brian reassured. “I felt like it would be more comfortable without you being judged by them.” He gave a warm smile. “Now I've ordered in a chef...”

The next three days passed incredibly smoothly. The rest of the evening had been amazing, Brian and Beau got on better than Paige had ever expected. The gourmet dinner went down well, and afterwards they had been so well acquainted that they spent the rest of the night watching Titanic, which also happened to be well loved by Brian. Brian also mentioned his love for the editing in the Janoskians videos, and when Beau told him that Luke was the master behind the works, Brian invited his brothers to dinner the following night.

The following night, was slightly more awkward as Cameron and Angela were present, but the inappropriate (but hilarious) jokes were more then enough to drive them away from the table. Luke showed Brian his editing skills and then afterwards, Brian was so intrigued that he requested to learn more. The boys had spent the next few hours tucked up in a corner, exchanging information. Brian had become like a father figure to the Brooks brothers, something they had always lacked since their father left them when they were extremely young. Brian, Paige, Beau, Luke and Jai had become a family in themselves, and of course Gina, Ariana and Sally would have been included if they were present. Paige was elated at how well the whole situation was panning out. She hadn't even expected Brian to like each other very much, let alone something to this extent.

Surprisingly, Brian had also been extremely happy when he expected Paige's ring was a wedding ring. When they explained it was a promise ring, he just spoke the words, 'in good time.'

But it was on Wednesday night, when Paige was staying with the boys and they were coming back from the movies that the most peculiar, unexpected thing happened.

“Are you still shaking?” Skip laughed. Paige glared at him playfully.

“It was scary!” She exclaimed. Beau laughed.
