It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen in her life. White flowers covered the floor, concealing the red catwalk style mat that had been originally laid down. The grass was covered in the white flowers as well. There were only 5 guests, but that was all they needed. A best man, a maid of honour, two bridesmaids and a grooms man.
“Are you ready?” Paige asked, taking a deep breath. Sally nodded, moving a strand of perfectly curled hair out of her face. Paige smiled, letting go of Beau who was holding her tightly.
“This will be us one day.” He told her. She nodded happily. She was counting on it.
Their life had been so much simpler since they had moved to Tristan Da Cunha, population of under 300. Although Paige hated planning anything and was jumpy around strangers, she was slowly settling into a decent lifestyle. They had used the money from Sam wisely; some of it was used for their fairytale-style house they had built themselves, giving extra employment to workers of the town and therefore immediately gaining their respect. They had built another house for Sally and Luke to live in. The rest of the money had gone towards Paige's dance studio, and Beau's construction business. They still had over half of the money in the bank, but they were happy at the moment. Everything was going well for them.
Looking down the aisle, they saw Luke's jaw drop at the picture of his stunning wife. He had never seen her looking so beautiful in his entire life! His heart fluttered at the sight of her, it was like the first time she had told him she loved him all over again. He felt the same butterflies he had felt on their first kiss. Every time he looked at her, it was like he was seeing her for the first time.
Baby Demi toddled around the venue, sporting a baby blue dress which complimented her sparkling eyes. She was nearing 2 years old and was the best thing, in their minds, that had ever happened to Sally and Luke. And with the news of another baby coming, they saw no better time to seal the knot on their relationship.
Slowly, Sally made her way down the aisle, one diamond encrusted shoe after the other (Paige and Beau's wedding present). Sally smiled wider with every step, watching her love waiting for her at the end. She was so content with her life, she finally felt like she was at home. Even though it was young love, she could tell she was going to grow old with him. She just wanted him to be by her side, forever.
After they exchanged vows, ones they never intended to break, they made their way over to a local cafe. It was highly inconvenient getting Sally's wedding dress through the door but they felt it was as practical as their life was going to be. They were not just sealing the knot to be together for ever between Sally and Luke, but the four of them, along with baby Demi, Brian and Gina were going to have a bright and happy future together.
“Now, I have another present for you!” Paige exclaimed as the guests sat in Paige and Beau's lounge room.
“Another one!?” Sally exclaimed immediately. “This is too much!”
“No, if they want...” Luke trailed off, winking. He was still holding onto her as if his wife was going to be whisked away at any moment. Demi had plopped herself not so gracefully across the coffee table.
“Was there anything you felt could have been changed about your wedding?” Paige asked, smiling to Beau.
“Well.. my husband?” Sally suggested, laughing. Luke's eyes and mouth opened wide.
“Excuse you, I was completely happy with my choice of wife!” He exclaimed. “But then she didn't want me so I married you instead.” He joked. Sally held onto her tighter.
“Please tell me you're lying.” She told him. His eyes started off cold and hard but soften quickly and he leant in, kissing her passionately.
“Alright.” Paige said, clearing her throat. “Anyway!” She exclaimed, rolling her eyes as the newly weds broke apart. “I know how you've always said you never felt complete knowing that your mother was somewhere in the world and you had no idea where.”
“Paige please, don't bring this up now.” Sally said, rolling her eyes. “You know it gets me emotional.”
“I know, but if you could speak to her, what would you say?” Paige asked.
“I'd ask her why she left me, where my sister was.” Sally began.
“That's a start.” A mystery voice sounded.
A woman walked towards them, an extremely beautiful looking woman with thick brown wavy hair even though she must have been at least 50. Her skin was pinched together in wrinkles around her eyes and mouth but she still had glowing skin. Her eyes were lifeless, a pale green colour. There was so much familiarity in her voice.
“Who are you?” Sally asked, breath taken by her beauty.
“It's me.” The woman told her, shakily. “You're mother.”
Sally just lay on the couch, unsure what to do. She gripped onto Luke's leg tightly. In her head she had imagined this scene a thousand times, but now it was actually happening she wasn't sure what to do.
“..Hi...” Sally managed to choke out, sending the room into laughter.
“Give her a hug!” Gina egged on. Sally shakily stood up, making her way over to her mother who gave her a warm, loving hug.
She felt warm ,protected.
So this is what a mother's love feels like!
“I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry.” Her mother whispered into Sally's ear.
“I know.” Sally replied, a tear trickling down her face.
When they finally let go of each other, Sally was the first to speak.
“Why did you do it?” She asked.
“I didn't mean to.” Her mother sobbed. “They took us.”
“What!?” Sally asked, completely in shock. Of all of the things she expected her mother to say, it wasn't that.
“We were kidnapped. You were such a smart girl.” Sally's mother smiled at the memory of her child. “You hid until they left. They took me as I tried to protect your sister. I've been searching the world for you, Sally.”
“It's a good job you found me then, isn't it.” Sally smiled wide.
“Mrs Shaw, it's a pleasure to meet you!” Luke introduced himself, holding out his hand.
“Come here, you!” Sally's mother exclaimed, pulling Luke into a tight hug. “I'm your mother in law, let's skip the awkward introductions!” She laughed.
“Who's this?” Sally asked, motioning over to the young teenage girl, standing in awe of Sally. Her eyes were wide like saucers, large and blue. She had a deep glowing complexion from almost a decade of travelling for Sally. She was stick-thin, a pie or two wouldn't have harmed her at all. Her mouth was formed in a wavering, awkward smile as she tried to stop the tears from falling.
“I'm your sister.” She smiled, a tear falling from her cheek.
A/N: I just thought this would be a really beautiful way to end the story, Sally finding her mum and sister again <3 So now the story is officially ended! I'm so happy that I got to write this book for you, sequel will be called Bullseye, I'll post it when I get over my writers block :') Love you all!
