“Let's go.” Beau said, his face all of a sudden turning firm.
“Beau I don't think you should..” Paige trailed off as she stared at Beau's harsh face. Even in their arguments, he had never looked this ticked off. He had never had that evil glint in his eye, like he was going to cause some serious damage.
“We need to find him.” Her told her sternly.
“I'm going to kill him!” Luke shouted. He ran out of the door, noticing that there was no signs of Skip left, but a black car was in the driveway waiting for them.
“I know where to go.” She told the boys. They nodded eagerly, and then shouted Jai and James into the lounge room, quickly filling them in.
“So, where to?” James asked, rubbing his hands together eagerly.
“It's an abandoned mental hospital..” She trailed off.
They snook around the back of the apartment, on the thin metal balcony. They needed to get to Paige's car, they couldn't get anywhere on foot. From there, it was a 2 story drop, and in suits and a dress for Paige, it wasn't looking like the ideal place to jump from. But Beau took the lead, jumping off first and then holding his arms out for Paige to step into, James, Jai and Luke all jumped down as well, not wanting to look inferior to their oldest member. They had to take a lot of dark alleyways, and were constantly looking behind their backs, but with 5 to 1 their odds were looking good, especially if Skip was going to the be the one to jump them. He didn't have a chance. The looks on the boy's faces were stone cold, it was like they had transformed into completely different people. For her.
When they reached the car they took no hesitation to clamour in, the boys letting Paige go in first being the gentlemen they were but then wanted to get in as fast as possible. Paige handed over the address to the chauffeur and told him to step on it, causing him to speed faster than the yellow taxi cars through the city.
Although they got lost a few times, it seemed like Angela had invested in a GPS for the driver, meaning that it was almost impossible for him to get as lost as he did the first time. He made small jokes every so often and tried to create a conversation but the boys were in no mood to talk and Paige was too busy plotting how to get out of the hospital and into the other one.
As soon as they reached the hospital it was an eerie feeling. They felt shivers, and it was as if there was somebody watching them, burning holes into their backs with their eyes.
“Where are we?” Jai asked timidly.
“It's an abandoned mental hospital.” She told them, which instantly sent shivers down their back.
Keep it cool Paige, you have to make them think you know what you're doing.
“Come this way!” She called, leading them into the building which was surprisingly unlocked.
“Why are we here?” James asked. He was looking around in the room she had led them to, inspecting everything in sight.
In her head, Paige had rehearsed everything she was going to say 1,000 times, but out loud it was so much harder to put together.
“Do you really want to protect me?” She asked. She didn't want to come off as arrogant but for her plan to work she needed to make sure that they wanted to be there. Instantly, they all exclaimed that they did. “Okay then. Well if you wait here, there's a watch over thing. That means that you will be able to see if someone is coming past. Since this is pretty abandoned, you should be able to make out who they are. From then and only then, can you please run down the back of the asylum. There will be an alleyway at the bottom of this garden, and I will be in the building at the end of the alleyway waiting.”
