“What did you say?” Paige asked, her eyes widening. She could have sworn he said something about a kiss. She gulped, this was not happening like what happened with Skip. She loved Beau too much, nothing would get in the way of that. The only feelings she had for James were as a friend.

“I said you won't believe how much I missed you.” He lied.

“I missed you too James, but I saw you yesterday.”

“I know, it just, it feels longer.” He told her. So, this was kind of a confession. Although deep down inside, he knew that she could never know, she could never feel for him the way he felt for her. She stared into his eyes, trying to read him. She felt like there was something he wasn't telling her.

“Wow, for a second there I thought you said something about wanting to kiss me!” She exclaimed, laughing. “Imagine that!” She exclaimed. “I mean, there's nothing wrong with you but us, dating?” She was still laughing, whilst James just sat with what felt like a rock in his stomach, trying to swallow his pride.

For a while they sat there, before James broke the silence.

“Do you want to see a movie or something, to get your mind off everything?” James asked. He felt like he was asking her on a date. He wished he was. But no, this was just two friends innocently hanging out.

“Sounds great. I'll just text Beau and tell him where we are in case he gets the wrong idea.” Paige said. Instantly his heart dropped. Especially when he saw the message she sent Beau.

Hi baby. Arguments at home. James and I are going to watch a movie and just hang out for a bit. Feel free to join. If not, I'll see you later xx

James felt his muscles tense, but he chose to ignore it. Instead he held his hand out, which Paige took.

“To the cinema?” He asked, giving her a challenging look.

“To the cinema!” She agreed, taking his hand and skipping down the pavement with him.

A few hours later, They emerged from their third or fourth movie (they had lost count by now), still laughing even though the movie had ended 10 minutes ago. Over the course of the day, James had achieved the next to impossible task of making Paige almost completely forget about everything that was happening with Danny. And when the returned to the boy's house, she didn't have a care in the world. As far as James was concerned, this was the best 'not date' he had ever had in his entire life.

The next two days travelled quickly, a few photo shoots and ballet rehearsals for Paige, and a few interviews for the Janoskian boys. They had seen each other a lot of the time however, seeing as her family had said she could stay with the boys for the remainder of the vacation, seeing as she was grieving, which she thought was extremely good of them, especially Cameron. In fact, he was the one who had suggested the whole move in the first place, apparently.

She hadn't heard too much of Danny though, even his text messages had been missed, she hadn't gotten a single one. She missed him, in a way that was unexplainable. It was like, his text messages had been a flash into reality. They had grounded her, and made her realise what was really going on behind closed doors. Whoever was doing this, they were out there. And although they had scared her to death most times, she was grateful for everything that he had done for her. She had secretly waited for those messages. She had enjoyed trying to figure out the meaning behind the messages. And now they were gone forever.

It seemed like there was a lot she was saying goodbye to. Somehow, she had never expected the day to come. The day she could finally say goodbye to Sam, finally let go of him and everything they were. But looking at Beau, who was peacefully sleeping with his arms around her, holding her close she realised that it was okay to move forward. Moving on by no way meant that she was forgetting. She could never forget Sam. He would be in her mind forever.
