(Recap):
“What are you talking about?” Paige snarled, her anger growing by the second and washing away her fear. “Just tell me who killed him!” She ordered. The room was light enough so that Angela's evil face could be made out, but only because Paige was concentrating so hard on it.
“Oh Paige, I think you know.” Angela told her. “I think in the back of your mind you know. You remember what they told you.” She smiled.
“They told me it was an accident.” Paige managed to choke. Angela sighed.
“Alright then, well maybe this will jog your memory.” She sighed, walking away from her. And as soon as the footsteps stopped, they started again, coming towards her with an object she couldn't make out.
“Time for the revelation of the year!” Angela called, an evil smile spreading across her face. “Everyone's been dying to see it.” She cackled harder.
The shuffling of feet was the only noise that could be heard as a storm of people seemed to run away from behind her. Angela was replaced by a glass, that seemed to reflect back everything in the room. It was like a stab in the heart as a wave of realisation flew over her.
A mirror!
She grimaced, her teeth grinding together.
“I thought you finished this!” Paige exclaimed, screaming. But Angela only laughed in her face, shaking her head.
“You obviously don't know us.” Angela smiled.
“What is she talking about?” Beau asked worriedly, but Paige couldn't hear him. The only voice she was focusing on was Angela's.
“You b!tch!” Paige growled angrily. “I know what you've done!” She lunged forward to punch her mother, but was dragged back by a pair of hands.
“Beau let me go!” She ordered.
“I don't have you!” He replied, from the other side of the room, his voice raising in concern. Her breath quickened as the hands held her tighter. But she felt a tear fall onto her shoulder, one that had not belonged to her.
“I'm sorry.” Cameron whispered, his voice against her head. “I'm so, so sorry.” He said. She felt a jab and a wave of sleepiness before she drifted away from reality and into another world.
When she woke the room was light, and she was surrounded by several people. She felt Beau entwine his fingers with her own and she smiled slightly, feeling a little less alone. She tried to recognise the faces around her but most of them were ones she had never seen before. A few of them were watching her coldly, the rest were staring at Angela, who appeared to be their leader, waiting for a command.
“Why don't we start at the beginning?” Angela asked. “For every right answer, you get to live, and for every wrong answer, Beau will get hurt. Deal?”
Paige's heart immediately dropped. She wasn't going to let him do this. She couldn't let Beau risk his life for her, especially since her mind was so clouded that she could not possibly answer anything correctly.
“Deal.” Beau said, determined. Angela raised an eyebrow, but Paige was too shocked to falter the expression on her face.
“Well okay then. Someone's a little keen.”
“And when we get out, I will kill you.” He threatened.
“I wouldn't be so optimistic if I were you.” Angela told him, laughing.
