He wasn't guilty. She knew it. She could tell by the expression on his face when she had thought he was guilty that he was innocent. She couldn't believe this. She shook her head, trying to erase the image from her thoughts, but she knew that she would have to discuss it with Detective Brown anyway.

“Where is he?” Beau's eyebrows furrowed in curiosity, but Paige was too distracted with her phone conversation

“In an asylum in Sydney. He didn't want anyone from Melbourne knowing he was in there.” Detective Brown told Paige through the phone.

“How do you know?” She asked.

“I know the police men that found him, took him there.”

“Well, is he okay?” Paige asked.

“He's asking for you. There was the number four written all over his body. Does that make any sense?”

“Four days.” She whispered.

“His bedroom was also trashed, a countdown with 4 days left on it?” Detective Brown questioned. It was like a stab in the heart. He had a countdown to his death!?

“Rings a bell.” She chocked out.

“Obviously, you will be asked to speak in court, as will Beau if he can present any evidence, and...” Paige zoned out and didn't hear the rest of his speech. She knew it was important but in her head all she could think was that her innocent good friend was in a mental asylum for a crime he didn't commit.

“Paige!?” Detective Brown asked after some time.

“Sorry, I'm just trying to take this all in.” She told him.

“Alright, I'll see you when you get back from New York and we can talk about this. But Danny is pleading guilty so we will have to work with that.”

“Thank you.” Paige said, hanging up the phone.

“What's happened?” Beau asked, pulling her into a hug.

“I'll explain inside.” She replied. “The boys will want to know as well.”

After she had finished explaining, there were mixed responses. Skip and Luke said they were happy he had gone down, and that he deserved everything that came to him. They were both still 100% convinced that it was Danny who had killed Sam. James and Jai, being the more sensitive ones, were angry but at the same time felt sorry for him, and immediately expected that since he was in a mental asylum that he was ill and needed help. But the entire time, Beau was shaking his head. A few parts of the story shocked him, but his cold expression stayed the same.

“What are you thinking?” Luke asked.

“I don't think this is true.” Paige's faced lightened up when he said that. Not enough to put a smile on her face, but a little nevertheless. “From what Paige told me, he has a good alibi. I just, I don't think he could have done it. Not alone. Not ever, really.”

“Don't you hate him?” Skip asked.

“Not really, not any more. Well, if he killed Sam then I will kill him, but if he's innocent like I think he is, I don't hate him.”

“Are you going to tell your dad?” Beau asked, as they lay down together in the old hotel room.

“I guess I'll have to. He'll have to speak. I don't know how, but he will have to speak about something.”

“When you going to tell him?” He asked.
