She counted down the days.

Two weeks. She had two weeks if that. If she was lucky. If she didn't aggravate him.

“Thank you for not telling me.” Paige told him. He couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not.

“I'm sorry.” He apologised. “I just... I just...”

“I know.” Paige told him, hugging closer to him. “Thank you. I mean it.”

“Really?” Beau asked hopefully.

“Yeah. I couldn't have survived the year knowing I was on a countdown. And now, at least I know to watch my back.”

“Are you sure?” Beau asked, consciously.

“Positive.” She told him, smiling. He leaned forward and she spun her body around, locking their lips together.

“Guys!” The cart driver called as they reached the bottom.

“Is it over?” Beau asked, completely dis-orientated. Paige giggled and kissed him lightly on the nose.

“I was wondering if you would mind sharing your cart with another family, it's the last ride of the day and we want to get as many people on as we can.”

“Sure!” Paige chimed. She looked over to Beau, who shrugged, not minding.

The cart driver smiled and thanked them both, before letting on a mother with a distressed mother who was rocking a baby to try and get him to sleep, along with a small toddler.

“Hi!” Paige chimed.

“Oh my god. Paige Arrows!?” The mother exclaimed. She held out her hand. Paige put her head in her hands, she had totally forgot about being famous. When she was with Beau, she wasn't the girl in the magazines, she was just Paige. She held her hand out to shake the mother's hand, before the mother turned to Beau.

“Beau Brooks!?” She exclaimed. “My sister talks non-stop about you!” She exclaimed, shaking his hand as well. “I can't believe my luck!” She exclaimed.

“You're pretty.” The toddler said to Paige, his sticky fingers running down the seat of the Ferris Wheel.

“Thank you.” Paige said, smiling wide and cuddling into Beau who had wrapped his arms around her.

“You two are adorable together, what happened with Danny?” The mother asked. “I'm Ruby Jackson, by the way.”

Paige and Beau looked at each other, not sure what to say.

“Sorry! Touchy subject?” Ruby asked, wincing.

“No, it's fine. He's just not the boy you think he is.” Paige told the mother. She nodded, understanding. The infant began to howl in the pram as the Ferris Wheel rocked at the top. Paige was confused, she wasn't sure babies so young were allowed on the rides. But he was so innocent, so full of life. Nothing had happened yet, he was so beautiful.

“Can I?” Beau asked, indicating the baby. Ruby nodded eagerly, lifted the baby out of it's pram and handing it over to Beau.

Paige had never seen Beau with children. She always expected he would be kind of good with 6 to 10 year olds because he was still at that mindset himself, but with infants she wasn't too sure. He was so silly all of the time. But as soon as she saw him holding the tiny, delicate infant in his arms, she changed her mind.

His mouth turned upwards into a sweet smile as he gently rocked the baby back and forth. It almost immediately stopped crying, and made a happy sound before snuggling it's neck into the warmth of Beau's jumper.
