I wonder if it's a normal thing in this town to just have a section of the grocery store that is blood related goods.

I think this as Carden walks away from me and into the lounge room behind the stairs.

But that would be too risky. If people were to come from another town to visit, then it would be troublesome. Maybe there's a secret shop? Or there's a spot in the back of the grocery of something?

"Hey? What are you standing there for?" I snap my head up to see Carden is sitting down with an Xbox controller in his hand.

"Are you going to play a game?" I ask.

"Nahh" he exaggerates.

"It's just a bit early" I say.

"It's never too early for video games" he says, looking back at the screen as he starts his game.

"Is anyone else up yet?" I ask, feeling nervous that we are the only ones up and we are managing to hold a conversation.

"Damien is probably up, Seth does soccer so he's at the club, Xavier is probably either asleep, or painting, and Griffin is most likely asleep" he explains, while staring at the TV. All the words just roll off his tongue like its a routine.

This must be a usual Sunday.

"Why're you still standing there? Sit down" he says.

I move over to the corner part of the couch where the L meets.

"Do you do any club activities?" I ask him.

I hope he doesn't get angry or something. Though I assume he doesn't do anything, I can still imagine it.

"Tennis" he says.

Tennis? I didn't expect that. But then again, what was I expecting if he were to be in a club?

"That's nice" I say, sticking clear of asking any more.

He takes another sip of his drink and I watch the white straw tint red as the liquid flows through.

"Have you drank those girls' blood?" I ask off the bat.

Obviously it was an unexpected question for us both because while I'm shocked I said it, he looks at me with a surprised but questioning face.

"Yeah, why?" He says nonchalantly.

"I don't know, just wondering" I say, though I'm really not sure why I asked.

"Are you jealous Princess? Do you want special treatment?" He teases me.

"I already have enough special treatment as it is" I say, annoyed.

"But that's not what you want" he says, smirking at me, completely forgetting about his game.

He leans over, closer to me. My eyes go wide, I know what he's thinking and I suddenly wish I had chosen to sit on the other half of the L instead of in the corner. He reaches his head out, lightly grazing the skin at my hairline and runs his hand through my hair and down to my neck where he keeps it. As he moves even closer he drops the controller on the couch and leaves it there, as if he forgot about it.

He's still shirtless by the way. It's not something that's easy to look away from either.

He leans in close and I'm almost shaking but also feel my face flush and my heart beating fast. What am I getting excited for?

I'm sure he does this to every other girl he's been with.

But that's not the point. The point is that I don't want this.
