Ch 33: Family

I smile and take it, smiling back at Nate who's in the crowd and watch him walk off to the crowd of watchers. Just at the last minute do I see him walk toward a rather grumpy looking Carden, though on the outside he simply looks bored or irritated, I can tell he is sulking about something. He says something to Greyson that makes Greyson smirk and they both glance at me.

The song starts, and as it plays on, and Seth takes back my attention, I notice that the song playing is Beauty and the Beast.

"Wouldn't this be the song for you and Carden?" Seth says as we dance, a much more relaxed dance than the previous one.

I frown at him and he grins.

"Maybe you don't think so" he says.

"I don't even think he will bother asking, I haven't seen him all night, until now" I say.

"Really? He's been around, I think" he says.

"Every time I saw him he disappeared" I say.

"I haven't seen you much tonight either though" he explains.

"Yeah, but I knew you were with friends" I say.

"Meh, let's stop talking about it" he says "let's talk about how great you look tonight"

"Thank you, I absolutely love it" I say with a smile.

"Well it's suck if you didn't, because it looks great, and I think all of the people watching us would say the same" he glances behind me at the onlookers of the dancing.

"That would probably be the only reason I would dislike it" I say.

"Why, because people can't keep their eyes off you?" He asks with a confused face "embrace it"

"It's a bit hard when half of them can also smell the sweet blood I have flowing through my veins" I say.

"It is really strong tonight, maybe it's because you're so happy and radiant right now" he says.

"That doesn't make it much better" I frown a little.

"Don't worry, you have people who will protect you,  myself included" he smiles at me and I smile back.

"Thanks"

I let myself fall into the song for the remainder of it, humming the words until the sweet end of the song.

"I think the next song might be a bit bigger again" Seth says as he glances at the people exchanging partners or leaving or entering the dance floor.

"I probably should go then huh?" I laugh a little "are you going to find a new partner and keep dancing?"

"Maybe, I'm not sure" he says as a couple rushes over to us.

Zoe is dragging Garret along by his gloves hand with a smile on her face.

They seem happy,  that's good.

"Are you gonna keep dancing? You look so great" she says enthusiastically.

"Thanks but I don't think I will" I say, we stay on the outer edges,  not disturbing the people who know what they're doing.

"Come on! Garrets agreed to dance with me for this one! And I'm gonna force Sam to ask Damien!" She says with excitement dripping from her voice.

I suppose she likes the dancing part much more than the talking.

"But uh" I stutter.

"I'd be happy to dance again" Seth smiles and I bite my lip.
