I stepped inside. But he didn't step back, I just simply got closer to him. His expression didn't change and I tried to make sure I didn't back down and move away simply because I was embarrassed.

"Do you really want to do that?"
He asks.

I glance at him and then the door handle that his hand is still on.

"Carden I'm sorry if I've annoyed you" I say.

"Eva that's not the point I'm trying to make right now, I'm fine with being friends I really am" he says "and if I deem my room as a place my female friends don't go, then you have to take that into consideration"

I stare back at him, a tint coming to my cheeks.

"Sorry" I duck my head and turn to leave but he closes the door.

"Eva" he says, taking hold of one of my hands and tugging me closer "this isn't just 'Cardens' room, this is a guys room, and I'm not going to lie about how I feel about you"

I freeze in place. What? I look up at him in confusion, there's absolutely no way-

"You make my blood boil" he says, leaning forward.

But he doesn't kiss me. Instead he goes straight for my neck.

"I want to know if you're absolutely sure about what you said the other day, because I'm not sure that I can handle just being your friend" he says "especially after first bite"

As his lips make contact with my neck I shove him away from me. He stumbles back a little bit, looking at me in surprise. I glare back at him, my eyes starting to feel incredibly hot. Why did I get my hopes up? I tear open the for and run out of the room as fast as I can. I run down stairs and out the front door. I feel like I'm suffocating and I need fresh air.

"Eva!" I hear, of all people, Griffin call out to me, his voice laced with worry.

I take a quick glance over my shoulder at him and wipe my tears from my cheeks.

"You can't go out by yourself, not at this time of night" he says, approaching me.

"Sorry, I wasn't thinking, I just... Need some air so can I just sit out here?" I ask.

"I won't leave you out here by yourself" he says.

"Okay well, I'm just gonna sit" I say, sniffling.

I sit down and he joins me on the steps.

"I'm not gonna ask" he says.

"Thanks" I smile a little.
