We leave the school and take that pathway to the little shopping district. When we get there we stop at the lights, waiting to cross.

"That's the shop over there" Zoe says and points to a shop with a decal of a banana split on the window.

I glance at Penny, she looks enlightened, really determined and happy.

Someone suddenly reaches from me and presses the button, startling me "Hey"

I spin around and stare angrily at a tall blonde boy.

"Why would you do that?" I ask him angrily.

"I thought you'd react, that's why" he smiles.

"Well don't, I almost had a panic attack" I say.

He smiles and I turn away from him. Then he addresses the other girls.

"You guys enjoy your own little bubble don't you?" Zoe asks.

"No, no I don't" I say.

"Yes, she's adorable, I like getting under her skin" he says and I roll my eyes "but this attitudes new to me"

"Well since I realised how harmless you are, Oshowatt, I stopped trying" I say.

"Anyway, how are you girls, where are you going?" He asks them.

They look curious and confused, but answer the question anyway.

"We are going to get ice cream" Zoe says.

"I don't hang around you guys much, but I feel like you are always doing that" he says.

"We like ice cream" Zoe says.

"Scratch that, Penny is obsessed with ice cream and we follow her because we enjoy it" Sam says.

"Well, sorry but I can't come" he says as if we had asked him.

"We didn't ask" Penny says bluntly to him, glaring back at him.

"I have to go hang out with a friend" he says, ignoring her, or rather, giving her a glance that looks a little like a glare back and then smiles at us.

"Who?" Sam asks.

"Someone you don't know" he says "he doesn't go to our school, he's come from a different town" he says smiling.

"Oh, that's cool" Sam says, and the lights go, and Penny rockets across the road.

"Bye!" He says and I glance back at him curiously.
