Ch 52: Blood Issues

Hi.

I'm sorry I haven't updated. My mind was busy with stuff. I should've though. I'm ten chapters ahead for that reason, so I have chapters to post if I have a block. Anyway my head hurts and I feel sick. I think I ate too much food mixed with too much creaming soda and school work.

Blegh.

"You aren't hungry?" Zoe asks me as I push my half eaten spaghetti away from me.

"Yeah, haven't got much of an appetite" I say.

"You should eat, or next time Carden won't be able to have a nice drink, cause you'll faint the moment he takes a sip" Lyla, a girl in the twins house says, making me gag.

I don't want any of that.

"I'm going to go to sleep" I say.

...

And although I said that, it's now 3 in the morning and I've yet to get a wink. I went to sleep for the slightest moment and had a nightmare, I don't want to go back to sleep.

...

I probably ended up getting only about 2 hours of sleep in the end. I feel like I could collapse at any point. I skipped breakfast and got in the car. I didn't want to worry anyone but I also couldn't bring myself to eat anything and keep it down.

I was starting to get a little better with the lying and acting, my fake smiles are more convincing, my lies are less questioned, my foundation puts some colour into my skin.

I've been acting "fine" around people. But I don't say that I'm fine, I say I'm happy and I'm good and I smile. I'm lying, and doing it for two weeks straight, it feels like I'm starting to believe it, to think I'm fine, I'm lying not only to them, but to myself.

Hayden approaches me the moment the car shows up, he's increased his efforts to ruin my life, surveilling me whenever possible. He takes my hand to help me out of the car. At first I want to snatch my hand away and use it to punch him in the face and slash his tires, but I can't. I put on an act that we are friends.

"Good morning" he smiles and I return it.

"Morning to you too" I say.

As Zoe and Sam part from us they both wave and Zoe grabs my hands for a moment.

"Call me immediately if something is wrong" she says, worry clearly apparent in her eyes.

"I will" I lie.

"You look great today" Hayden says.

"Because I didn't get a wink of sleep so I had to cover it up really well this morning" I say.
