Nate decided it would be good to thank the vampire man so we waited a bit for him to get his food.

"Hey, thanks for helping us before, we really appreciate it" he said to the guy and he took his glasses off, revealing shiny blue eyes.

"It's fine, plus I couldn't let a sweet girl be bullied by such a lower class guy" he says, looking at me.

He looks like he is in his thirties, with stubble and wider eyes than Greyson, but not as much as Orpheus.

"Yeah, he was just jealous, but with his shitty attitude, he wasn't gonna get anywhere getting a new girlfriend, let alone you" Nate turns to me as he says his last couple of words.

"Thanks, but I don't even know if he was even human, with his look on things, he seemed lower than a human, and definitely lower than a vampire" I say.

"Yeah, he sure was a cocky little shit" the man says, smiling at me and holding out his hand "I'm Grant, I run a cafe in the town nearby, its called Thirst"

"Nice to meet you" I say, shaking his hand.

The previous scary aura from his has disappeared and he seems like a very friendly person now. Nate sakes his hand and then says we should go and jokes about Xavier missing my sweet smell. We get back, luckily the foods still quite hot and Nate places the blood box in front of Xavier, surprising him.

"I said I wanted a sprite..." He says.

"Yeah, I got both" Nate says as he puts the sprite next to the red box.

Xavier takes a second to register it and grabs the blood box "thanks"

"Well we wouldn't want you attacking one of us, would we?" Nate jokes "but if you're going to, choose her, apparently she's sweeter, I have a cold, I'm disgusting"

He fakes a cough and I giggle.

"You are unbelievable" I say, finding light of the sweet scent of my blood for once.

"I am undeniable" he says, wiggling his eyebrows.

I giggle and look over at Xavier, who's watching us.

"Do you guys want to go home after eating?" Xavier asks.

"Nah, I wanna make sure Eva does some horrible roller skating first"

...

"I can't believe you" Nate says as we walk down the path from the park.

He thought I'd be bad at roller skating. But I chose roller blades and showed him that I did not need any help. I used to like roller blading when I was younger. He offered help when really he needed more help than me. Not saying that he's bad, but was still stumbling sometimes. Xavier wasn't that great, he needed help the most.

"I did it when I was a child, so I'm good at it" I say "not that I'm no longer a child"

"Whatever, I'll find your weakness" he says.

I'm happy to have found a friendly person so quick into moving schools, and I won't be taking it for granted.

We reach the dorm and I smile at Nate

"Thanks for coming" I say, smiling at him with bags in my hands.

He smiles at me and then makes a face of realisation.

"I almost forgot" he grins as he pulls out a bag from the pocket of his hoodie.

He hands me the bag and smirks "it's a match to your ring"

I smile.

"Thanks" I say as I take the bag from him.

"Well, see ya at school" he says, shoving his hands in his pockets.
