Ch 43: Now That I See You

I know what I said but now I think he is trying to just piss me off by acting angry and ignoring me now completely. I can't win can I?

Nate sings The Bear Necessities. But we decided he should sing another song as well so after that, with a smile he sung Friends on the Other Side. Dramatically he waved his hands in the air and made sly faces. He dramatised everything.

It cheered me up a little too while I had been trying not to focus on Carden and being angry at him. Nate even came up to me, grabbing mine and Anne's hands and pulling us out of our seats to keep being dramatic and acting the way the character does in the movie.

It's Penny's turn now, and she seems pretty excited about it. She is currently going through the list. I hope she chooses something nice. I can see her either singing some angelic song or completely alternative to that, rock music. I actually can't see her just singing a fun or theatric song.

That's why it's a little surprising when she chooses I Won't Say I'm in Love.

Her short hair bobs back and forth as she sings. It's really surprising that she is so free with herself. I half expected her to be shy and self conscious like me. I guess I shouldn't judge like that. But she seriously lets loose singing, as if letting out stress and worries. She makes all the hand gestures needed for this particular song to be performed and even does the muses, aka background singers.

It's refreshing to hear her sing out all of her feelings and stress because while I had sung my song I wasn't fully able to. I was a little bit but not enough. And hearing Penny sing like this heals my annoyed soul.

"At least out loud, I won't say I'm in..."

As Penny finishes up she turns from the succumbing to love Megara and into calm and composed Penny again as she pulls her hair out of her face and let's out a breath.

"I say that Carden goes next" she says.

"Not happening" he quickly refuses.

"Too bad, get up" she says.

"No" he says.

She opens her mouth to speak but I get in before her.

"Carden stop being a buzzkill and just sing, it's no big deal and it's only fair so stop being such an egotistical save-my-pride douche bag and get up and sing" I rant out at him, my blood in my veins growing more hot with each word and I have to stop myself before I get too angry.
