"Wake up" A flick to my head snaps me awake and I immediately go into a defensive position.

Someone bursts out into a fit of laughter and I look around to see Damien and Seth standing in my room, Seth in a fit of laughter.

"I can see Griffin had quite the effect on you" Seth manages to say when he seems done.
Good to know you find my trauma humorous.

"Get dressed, school starts in an hour, and you don't want to know what happens if you are late" Damien instructs me, walking out of the room with Seth.

I lift myself up off the bed and see a black and blue uniform at the end of it, the skirt looking far too high for me, considering I don't really want to show much skin when around these boys. It's weird that I even have a uniform ready for me and yet they still don't understand why I'm here. I walk over to the windows to see if it is night or not, and open the large drapes covering them. Sunlight floods the room, covering me and the things around me in a bright, yellow tone.

Maybe I don't know how vampires work. I thought they were burnt from sunlight.

I quickly toss on the uniform on and brush through my hair with the brush I had put in my bag. I don't know the rules of this school so I put my hair in a side braid. Sadly leaving my neck exposed. But at least it was better than putting it in a ponytail where both sides would be exposed.

I rush down the stairs, not wanting what I imagine would be a punishment for not coming on time. I look into the dining room to see them all at the table eating. It feels weird to watch them eat normal food when I know that they have a thirst for blood. I sit next to Xavier, it being the only seat left. I would have preferred to sit next to Damien or Carden but they had people either side of them. And I could have tried sitting at the end of the table or further away, suppose a seat away. But I thought better of it, I don't want them to particularly notice me and tell me to sit next to them.

Xavier seems nice, but I don't really know If that's true or not. He looks cute too, but just because he seems that way doesn't mean he is. I'm definitely on my guard now, all of them and me in one room doesn't sound very appealing, but neither does just being in a room with one of them.

I pick out a piece of toast and butter it, never letting down my guard. I still really want to understand how they work, if they don't burn in sunlight then what else is different?

I catch Griffin eyeing me and it sends chills down my spine, he grunts and looks away as I catch Carden also staring at my neck.

"Um, does the school have a certain dress code for hair? Or can I let it down?" I ask Damien, hesitantly.

"You're fine if you want to let it down" he says calmly.

"Thank-you" I quickly pull the hair tie out and undo the braid, placing my hair on my shoulders to cover my neck.

Damien stands and looks at all of us. "Time to go"

The rest are either already done or, like Seth, quickly finish their food before getting up and leaving the room with bags slung over their shoulders or in their hands. I look around to see if there was a bag for me, I checked in my room earlier but there wasn't one so I had assumed there'd be one for me here. But I cant see one.

I run my fingers through my hair and take a breath. Looking up I see Carden waiting and rush over and pass him, following the others outside. It seems they practically bask in the sunlight like they are taking it in. Xavier particularly smiling as he walks over to the car thats waiting for us.

I don't notice I'm staring until Carden shoulders past me as he walks out. I quickly regain my posture, wanting to stab him with a stake, which is an odd thought from me. I hurry over to the car and he shoves a bag at me, which I take, annoyed that he seems so rude yet keeps helping me. I get in with him following behind me, it's like he thinks I'm going to run away. Always going after me. But he's right to, because I would try to run, or at least think and want to, whether I would is debatable.
