Chapter 20

Deirdre sat in the hallway stunned. Thor, Jane, and Tyr had heard the whole thing, her whole rant.

"Loki, is this true!" bellowed Thor, anger marring his face. "Did you kidnap this poor girl and force her to be your wife? To bare your children? Have you no honor."

"Good choice, brother," muttered Tyr. "I commend your choice, she's quite comely. I'd love a turn at her."

"Silence, both of you!" yelled Loki. "Yes, I did. But there is nothing that can be done now. It is a binding marriage. And I'd thank you, Tyr, not to make lewd comments about my wife." Loki was stroking Deirdre's cheek as her spoke. He then stood up to his full height. "You, Thor, choose your wife one way, I choose mine in another. What are you going to do?"

Deirdre looked at all the people staring at her. She had previously been so fierce and strong, little managing to waver her sharp tongue. But right now she was anxious. her whole world was crashing down and for the first time in her life she was hyperventilating. She was having a panic attack.

Through her panic she heard Loki screaming to give her space. He then told the guards to bring her back to the chamber. A wheelchair appeared out of thin air.

Deirdre was back in Loki's chamber. Verdandi was sent to assist in feeding her. She told the lady's maid that she could feed herself, but Loki didn't want her to strain herself. She thought to herself he probably didn't want her to strain herself as he was going to strain thin gs for her.

She sat on a chair and read on of her Harry Potter books. She had loved the books for so long. They soothed her. With her teddy bear in arm she sat with her legs crossed and read. It calmed her. With no movies or tv here she had little else to do. Her plan to kill Loki was going no where. How could she kill a god.

Loki came into the room sometime later.

"There you are you mewling quim." He growled. He grabbed her by the hair and forcefully pulled her to a standing position. He roughly kissed her, a strong taste of alcohol on his breathe.

Loki looked furious. He pushed her to the ground mere moments after having ended a kiss. She looked up at him with pure fear in her eyes. She tried to stand up to stand up but Loki pushed her back to the floor.

"I didn't tell you to stand up, love. Do you realize how close you came to fucking everything up today?" snarled Loki. She'd never seen him so upset. He was scary enough on a normal day, but while drunk he was downright terrifying.

Deirdre stuttered, "Wh...what do y...you mean?" Her first ever panic attack had only been a few hours ago and right now she was convinced she was about to have another one. Or maybe she wasn't over the first one. She didn't know.

"My brother wants to take you from me. He wants to return you to your family. But I won't let him. You are my only family now. You and that baby." Loki bent down and helped her up. He lifted her chin and kissed her gently. It was the softest sweetest kiss she'd ever received from him. But next thing she knew he was biting her lips and the kiss turned rough. She tastied blood. She pushed her hands against his hard, muscled chest. A slap landed across her face and she flew to the floor. She tried to crawl away from him.

Loki took two large strides and grabbed her by her middle. Her aching body squirming to get away from him. Deirdre let out a strangled cry as Loki's hand closed around her throat. He lifted her by the neck so that her feet dangled just out of reach of the ground and yelled, "Where do you think you are going? You're mine! You don't blink without my permission. Do you understand?"

Deirdre couldn't speak, but she nodded vigorously. "I can't hear you!" He threw her body like a rag doll. She gripped the side of the bed preventing her torso from hitting the ground...again.

"Y...Yes. Yes! I understand. I'm sorry. I swear. I'm sorry. Pl...Please don't hur...hurt me again."

Loki crossed his arms over his chest. His armour disolved leaving his green tunic and leather pants. "Get undressed."

Deirdre stood on shaking legs and began removing her clothing. Her fingers trembled and her body was wracking wih sobs. She worked at every tie, every button as quickly as she could but his impatient growl made it obvious that she wasn't quick enough. His hands reached over and ripped the remaining fabric from her body.

When she was finally exposed she noticed numerous fresh bruises on her tender flesh, thankfully none where on her abdomin. As much as she didn't want to be a mother she knew she couldn't let this fetus get hurt just because her "husband" choose to beat her.

"Get on your knees." Loki commanded in a low growl.

She complied for fear of angering this beast. She wondered if Thor would be able to save her. Maybe him overhearing her rant would be her Godsend. Pun intended. Deirdre laughed to herself.

"What's so funny? You are being punished for your insolence and you find it comedic?"

Oops. She clearly didn't laugh to herslf. "I...I don't know why I laughed."

"You're lying Deirdre. I'm the God of Mischief and Lies. And I've been watching you since your birth. I think I can tell when you are being untruthful."

"I made a joke in my head. It helps me cope when you get like this."

Loki's expression softened. He knelt down to her. "I'm truly sorry my love." He brushed the tears from her eyes and held her in his strong arms. "I was blaiming you for something you didn't deserve."

Loki went to her armoire and got her a nightgown he helped her into it and he lifted her onto the bed and held her.

"I'm so sorry love. Please, forgive me. It isn't your fault that Thor overheard us. I should have told you as soon as I knew that we were expecting a child however I wasn't sure how to."

"So, what did you do with Thor since he plans to get me out of here?" she asked, hoping that Thor was still alive.

"I merely banished him. I removed his powers. If anyone who hold the virtue of Thor finds his hammer mjolnir before him. I made it quite a bit more difficult than my father did previously. He shan't bother us again."

Loki held her in his arms and drifted off to sleep. Deirdre laid restless hoping that Thor could save her.
