Chapter 5:

Deirdre woke up and stretched her aching body. She felt her teddy bear, Baby, next to her as she stretched and she hugged him close to her body. As she lay in bed she thought about the bizarre dream she'd had. She dreamt she was on another world, kidnapped by a god. But that was crazy. Then a hand brushed the hair off her neck and she felt a kiss press to her bare skin.

"Morning, love. Are you hungry?" Deirdre froze. It wasn't a dream. She was still here. That explained her aching body.

Deirdre let go of Baby, not wanting to seem weak. She jumped up and looked at Loki. He was peaking through the green canopy curtains, which had been drawn around her.

Deirdre looked at him wide eyed and terrified. She didn't say anything to him. She had nothing to say to this awful man.

Loki pushed the canopy curtain open. He was wearing a green tunic, black leather pants, and boots, again. He leaned down close to her and lifted her chin. He gently kissed her lips. She pushed her hands hard against his chest and pulled free from his kiss. He stumbled back a bit.

"Don't touch me, you sick freak!" yelled Deirdre. She crossed her arms over her chest.

Loki looked down at her, anger washed over his face. Suddenly, he pounced, pushing her body against the bed. Her back was still bandaged and in pain. She let out a shriek. Loki was on top of her pinning down her body. He pinned her hands above her head with one hand and held her face in place with the other.

"When are you going to get it through your head that you belong to me now? You are mine and I can with you as I please."

He stared deeply into her eyes. She tried as hard as she could to pull her head from his grip but he wouldn't let her. She averted her eyes from his piercing gaze.

"When are you going to get it through your head that you can't own me? You can't own another person," said Deirdre calmly.

"That love is where you are wrong. See, you are no longer on Midgard. There it may be against the law to own another person, but you are on Asgard now and I am King. By accepting that ring last night you admitted to the world that you are mine. This fact will only be cemented further once we are married."

"Then you can have your stupid ring back. I don't want it. I don't want to marry you. I will never be yours. I just want to go home. Someone is probably looking for me by now." A few tears rolled down her cheeks, but she quickly stifled them.

"Look at me," said Loki sternly. She looked at him, the weight of his body still pressed against her, her hands still above her head and her face still held motionless by his unyielding grip. Loki's piercing green eyes stared into her ocean colored ones.

"This is your home now and I am your only family. Why would you ever want to go back to Midgard where you were unappreciated by everyone? Your family took you for granted and your friends haven't even noticed you are missing yet. As for your job, do you really think they'll even care when you don't show up for work? You'll be replaced almost immediately. You've been gone for two days, love, and I can assure you, no one has even noticed that you are missing. Here you have me. I will love you and protect you and give you everything you deserve," said Loki calmly.

"Do I really deserve to be beaten and flogged and raped? That's not love and that's not protection! The only person I need protection from is you!" cried Deirdre.
