Chapter 25:
Tony, Thor, Jane Foster, and two Shield Agents were packed in a small hotel room with Donna Sinsimer. The 5'1, plump, blonde 32 year old had this huge smile on her face and a whimsical look in her eyes.
"So you are all telling me that I've managed to obtain the power of Thor?" said Donna in heavily accented English.
"Yes, madam. And if you choose to keep my hammer I will lose all powers I have. I will be no more than a human," bellowed Thor.
"What my husband is trying to say," responded Jane in a warm voice, "is that without his hammer he can't protect Earth. Do you remember the meteor shower a few years ago? The one that destroyed New York?"
"You mean when the Avengers fought the aliens and destroyed New York? Yes, this hammer makes me remember that event a little differently than I did before."
"Well, my brother Loki was responsible for all of that and he has taken a girl captive. Unless I have my hammer I can't save her and she may be another added to the death toll my brother has created. I don't want the blood of any more innocents on his hands...on my hands," said Thor.
"Look lady, if you give Thor back his hammer I'll write you a check for so much money you'll never have to work again." Tony pulled out a platinum pen and checkbook with kittens playing with yarn on it. "I swear, Pepper got me this. I don't think the kittens are too adorable for words," said Tony as Jane looked at his checkbook with a grin upon her face.
Donna looked at the group and said, "I will give Mr. Thor back his hammer. However, I just want you to know why I'm returning it. I'm not returning it for him. You say his brother kidnapped a girl. Well, I've seen the damage that can be done to women and I want you to save her. Hopefully, before she's been broken by him. And Mr. Stark, I would take a check. There is a shelter back home that I volunteer at. They tend to battered women and children. They could use some new beds and such."
Tony wrote a large personal check for $100,000. "I'm sure this should be enough to buy the shelter some new beds." Donna's eyes widened and a genuine smile crept across her face.
"I'm sure the shelter will appreciate it, Mr. Stark. Mr. Thor. Here is your hammer." Donna lifted the hammer from behind the couch and handed it to Thor. "Please, save that girl, before it is too late."

When Deirdre woke up the next day she was shocked, Loki still had his arms wrapped around her. He was always gone. But here he was sound asleep holding her like her life depended on it.
She tried to wriggle out of his grip but he let out a groaning noise. "Where do you think you're going?"
"The bathroom," she said deadpan.
"Oh, well enjoy."
Deirdre took care of herself. She wanted to spend the day reading since she couldn't watch a movie or TV. She missed her life on Earth. It may have been stressful and difficult, but it was her life. She got to be her own person. She missed that.
When she walked out Loki was still stretched out on the bed. She'd been here a few months and Loki had never stayed in bed all day.
"So love, I thought today I could take a break. Maybe we could spend the day together."
Her worst nightmare was seemingly coming true. Maybe it was a dream. What would they even talk about. Maybe she'd sit there and discuss with him the benefits of using Pavlov techniques to cause her to associate him with tasty food or maybe they'd discuss whether spanking or whipping was a better form of punishment. She snorted. As if they'd have anything to talk about.
