Loki's Obsession - Chapter 26

Chapter 26:

"So you're telling me that the guy involved in the 'incident' has kidnapped someone? I know it's tragic and stuff but girls disappear every day. Why aren't you looking for them instead of smashing up cities?" asked America Chavez.

"Ma'am, organizations like SHIELD and the Avengers deal with what is typically considered beyond the realm of normal. You are gifted, I'm sure you are aware that gives you a different set of problems," said the female Shield agent.

"No, I get it. You think you are above normal cases of sex trafficking but I guess if it involves a God than it matters. What makes this girl different than the others?"

Jane looked at this girl. According to the file she was 16 and lived with someone named Jorge Diaz. The gentleman was 26 and didn't appear to be around. This girl had appeared on Earth at the age of 6 and could allegedly punch holes between dimensions.

"The difference, America, is that this girl can be saved. This girl is special like you and she is being beaten and abused and we can do something to save her but only with your help. There are plenty of other girls out there that hopefully can be saved too. But right here and right now we have a girl that we know can be saved. You were 6 when you came here? Was there someone that saved you?" asked Jane.

"My brother saved me. I live with him now since our mom passed. He found me wandering the streets, hungry and confused and he brought me home. Convinced his mom and step dad to adopt me and they did. I wonder what would have happened had he not saved me..." she trailed off wistfully. "Of course I could find out the answer, but I don't think I want to know what would have happened. Alright you guys have yourselves a deal. I'll get you to Asgard and back but that's it. If you want people to help fight once you're there, well, that won't be me. I'm not getting mixed up in that...not yet at least."

Deirdre woke up and went to the bathroom. Loki was no where to be seen so she assumed the normal routine. She got dressed and expect breakfast to be served shortly, than her appointment from the healer. If nothing else she could say for sure that she had a routine. She grabbed a book and started reading it.

Within 15 minutes the door opened. She expected to see Verdandi carrying her breakfast tray as always. But today Loki was standing there. He lit up as he looked at her. It made her blush. He looked at her like she was the only thing that mattered. It reminded her that she was merely his obsession. But deep down she felt butterflies in her stomach. Maybe it was just the pregnancy...Yeah that had to be it.

They sat together and ate breakfast. It had been a while since that happened.

"So, love, I thought today we could discuss baby names. I would love to hear your opinions," said Loki.

"Uhh, I guess we can discuss it. I've always liked the name Selene for a girl. Or Donna. River is also a great name."

Loki leaned on the table, "And if it's a boy?"

"Rory or maybe Liam or Aidan. I don't know. I was never really expecting to have a kid at this point in my life. Last year if you'd asked me this I would have said to name the kid Stormageddon Dark Lord of All."

"You are too adorable sometimes, love. I like all those names and I'm sure we can agree on something amazing."

Deirdre blushed again. No she needed to stop that.

Deirdre felt a stirring in her stomach. Why did she feel like there were butterflies in there? She hadn't felt like this for a guy ever and it was confusing. She was so close to convincing Loki she loved him and when she had she could stab him in the back and be free. But now...?
