Chapter 6:
Deirdre continued to push the food around on her plate. She hadn't eaten anything in quite a while. She didn't want to make eye contact with this man. He had completely ruined her life. This was only her second day here and he'd already managed to change her completely.
When she woke up yesterday, she was a virgin. Yesterday, a man had never even kissed her. Today Deirdre didn't even know who she was. Apparently she was the future queen of a world she'd never heard of. And today, she gave in to this man's whims despite the fact that she didn't want to.
If Deirdre stayed here much longer she'd lose her job. As difficult as that job was and as much as she hated it some days it was the only place where she had friends. In a way she felt like she belonged there.
But Loki was right. They'd fire her when she never showed up for work and they'd probably just assume it was her way of quitting. It would be days before anyone realized that she was missing. And the fact that she was being held captive on another planet wouldn't help matters much.
Deirdre tried to remember back to her last few precious hours on Earth.
Midgard – December 8, 2013 – around noon
Deirdre woke up like it was any other day. Her small apartment was a mess but she just didn't have time to clean it. But she had to do it soon. She had the next four days off of work and she had to find a place to move, clean, and pack. But she could do it. She always seemed to make things work in the nick of time.
She went to the bathroom and took a shower. The distinct smell of weed filled the apartment as she got out of the shower. It seemed like her crazy roommates were smoking again. God, did she need to find a new place to live. Not that they'd let her stay for another month if she needed to. Her roommates were crazy people and she couldn't stand them. They were absolutely awful.
They were number 2 on the list of worst people she had ever lived with. The number 1 spot would always belong to the bitch roommate that she had in sophomore year of college. To this day Deirdre was still convinced that that girl was poisoning her. Though she still had no proof.
This couple that she'd been subletting from was crazy. They smoked (cigarettes and weed) and she was allergic. When she'd moved in they lied to her about being smokers. They didn't let her keep her shampoo in the bathroom and they often made loud noise even though she had to be to work early. But for the next four days she was off from work.
She got dressed in some comfortable clothes. It wasn't like what she wore to work mattered all that much since she had to change into her work clothes when she got there anyway. But today she was working at the concession stand and when she worked at the concession stand she found that being a little bit flirty with male guests helped her sales average. So she wore a bra that gave her fantastic boobs and packed her formfitting work shirt in her backpack.
Deirdre didn't have too many friends and she had never had a boyfriend. She had four people at work that she felt close enough to give hugs to, they consisted of two girls that she had become friendly with and two wonderful gay guys who always made her happy.
But for the most part Deirdre avoided interacting with too many other people. She didn't tell anyone, not even her four close friends, but she had applied for the open supervisor position and she was probably going to get it. But three of her friends started the job at the same time as her and one had been there 3 months longer. So she felt like most of them would tell her she wasn't ready. But she had a very high IQ and she had a higher education than most of the managers at her job.
