Merry POV
Matthew's door suddenly flew open making everyone in eyes shot look towards it. When Hailey emerged running away, Merry gasped in shock. What was happening?
She stood quickly from her chair, making her way towards Matthew's room.
"Matthew what happened?" She asked, pushing the door open. Her steps stopped as she saw Matthew pulling himself onto the bed from the floor.
Upon seeing her, Matthew turned towards her with sad eyes. "Mom go after her!"
"But Mat-"
"Mom go! I am fine....Go now!" He shouted.
Merry nod, quickening her steps towards the direction where Hailey disappeared.

Hailey POV
She needed to leave. Leave this place. Maybe that way she could convince herself that this was all a dream....
Forcing her way through the hospital and it's front door she stumbled a little, quickly steadying herself before she continued.
Rushing out onto the car park she looked frantically around for the car in which she came here.
Her vision began blurring making her wipe at her eyes to clear it, but no matter how much she wiped, they continued to do so.
"Why!" She shouted. Looking up at the blue sky above. "What have I ever done to you! What more do I have for you to take!" She shouted, dropping onto her knees and finally giving up on fighting back her tears.
Her entire body began trembling as she cried, closing her eyes she gasped for air.
"Hailey?" A soft female voice called her from behind. Ignoring it she continued to cry loudly, letting out the pain and anguish she felt.
"Hailey." The voice called again, sounding closer than before.
"Leave me alone!" She spat. No caring who that person was or what they wanted. "I just want to be alone..." She mumbled to herself..
She listened as that person advanced towards her, finally stopping in front of her.
"I'm sorry I can't do that." The voice muttered sadly making Hailey's eyes snap open, finding Merry looking down at her with understanding eyes.
Hailey stayed silent, not knowing what to say as Merry knelt down before her. "Oh sweetheart." Merry whispered, opening her arms. A soft whimper escaped Hailey's mouth as she launched herself into the comfort of Merry arms.
Merry encircled Hailey in her arms, tightly hold her as she let all her emotions flow.
After a while, Hailey's breathing steadied, until silence finally took over. "I can't lose him..." Hailey whispered, resting her head on Merry's shoulder.
Merry's heart ached as she heard these words. "Do you love my son?" She asked. Hailey pulled back from her arms so that they were now facing each other.
"So much that it hurts." Hailey confessed as tears began flowing again.
Merry looked at her for a moment, almost studying her until "I need to tell you something... but I need you to be focused."
Hailey nod, hearing the urgency in Merry's voice.
Merry pulled open her black coat, pulling out a folded brown envelope. "I need you to keep this." She said, looking at Hailey.
"What is it?" Hailey asked, taking it from Merry and looking at it.
Merry hesitated for a moment before replying. "Your future."
Hailey's eyes shot up to meet her's. "What do you mean my future?"
Merry's eyes lingered on her as if thinking if she should continue. Raising her hand to Hailey's cheeks she opened her mouth. "After Matthew got sick, he transferred his entire company to my name....and now I have transferred it to your name."
"What why? " Hailey questioned, pushing herself of the ground until she was standing, towering over Merry.
When Merry stayed silent, a chill suddenly ran through Hailey's body gripping her heart and squeezing tightly.
"Tell me you are not going to do what I think you are?" Hailey gasped, her eyes widen with horror.
Merry slowly stood to face her once again, looking at her. "I have no other choice...." She confessed.
Hailey extended her hand holding onto Merry's shoulders. "There is always another choice."
"This time things are different." Merry said sadly.
" And why is that?"
"His blood type is unique and no amount of money and resources put into finding a person to donate a heart can quicken the search."
"Merry there must be some other way...." Hailey tried reasoning.
"Don't you think if their was I would not have already found it? I tried everything I can..."
Hailey tried to think of a way to reason with Merry but it all seemed futile. A mother's love can pass all bounds....How can anyone reason with a pure heart?
"I can't lose my son Hailey...without fighting with everything I have and even then I would not give up. I gave birth to him... I can't see him die." Merry sobbed.
Hailey opened her arms bringing Merry into a hug. If anyone could understand a mother's pain it was her. She knew deep down that she would do anything for her son as well, so what right did she have to stop another person's mother from doing what they think was right.
"Tell me that he is going to be okay...." Merry weeped.
It took all the courage and power Hailey had to nod. "I pray that your heart saves him...."

Matthew POV
Where was my mother and Hailey? Did my mother find her in time?
Matthew found himself constantly looking at the door of his room, waiting patiently for any sign of them.
The door suddenly opened as his doctor Mr. Kyle walked into the room, holding a chart in his hands.
"Mr. Stone, I have some good news...we have found you a heart."
Matthew's heart leaped in his chest at this.
"We will be preparing you for surgery shortly." His doctor smiled, walking out the door. Somehow his smile not reaching his eyes...
Matthew felt so overjoyed that he wanted to jump and shout...until realization finally hit him making his smile slowly fade away. The last time he asked about a replacement heart, the doctors said that there still was no word, so how was a heart available at such a short notice.
Something was not right....
