Hailey POV
Finally driving into the long strip that was the driveway of her home, she let out a happy sigh. She could not wait to see her baby again. It has been so long since they have spent time together... it was strange. Coming here has given her new hopes but also made her and Hayden drift apart....
Shaking her head she pushed the dreading thought away. That's impossible. She would never allow that to happen to them, they were a team.
Matthew parked the car and exited it, walking to her side and opened hers. She smiled at him thankfully and stepped out. The moment he closed the door behind her, he grasped her hand in his. Hailey blushed slightly at this. His hand felt so warm and soft in hers that she never wanted him to let go.
They walked silently towards the door, contented in the silence between them. Hailey waited patiently until he opened the door for them. They both stepped inside and began to walk up the stairs. Hailey stopped when she reached her room and turned towards Matthew.
"I had a lovely time. Thank you." She smiled up at him.
Matthew dipped his head, capturing her lips with his, giving her a tender kiss. "The pleasure was all mine." He pulled away slowly, smiling back at her. He released her hand, allowing her to reach for the doorknob.
The moment she did so, she felt him press his hard chest to her back. Leaning her weight on his, she closed her eyes as he began pressing slow kisses up her neck to her cheeks. Reaching her ear he paused. "Please tell me you feel the same as I do." He whispered, making her heartbeat quicken. "I promise if you let go, I will catch you. I would never let you fall..." He pressed another tender kiss on her ear before he stepped away. Spinning on his heels he turned and walked towards his room, opening the door and closing it behind him.
She looked on as the door closed, her heartbeat no closer to slowing down. Taking a few calming breath she closed her eyes and pressed a hand to her chest where her heart lies. "I think I have already let go.... " She whispered before stepping into her room as well.

Closing the door behind her, the room filled with darkness. Bending slightly she removed her heels from her feet so that they would not make noise and wake her baby as she walk towards her closet. She tiptoes towards the closet, with hands in front of her making sure she does not bump into anything. The moment her fingertips grazed the handles of her closet, she smiled triumphantly until...
"Mommy?" Hayden asked, turning the lamp beside the bed on, making the entire room erupted into light.
"Hey baby. Sorry I waked you." Hailey whispered, making her way towards him. Sitting beside him on the bed, she passed her hand over his bed head and smiled.
"Wow." Hayden turned towards her with orb shaped eyes, finally noticing what she was wearing. "You look pretty mommy."
"Thank you baby. " Hailey smiled again. "Sorry I am being a crappy mommy lately."
"It's okay mommy." Hayden smiled, but Hailey knew him better than to believe his fake smile. This caused her to feel sad as well.
Suddenly an idea popped into her head. "Come on, get out of bed." She stood, pulling the sheets back, revealing him in his batman pajamas.
That's my boy....
"Why mommy?" He asked but continued to do as she said.
"You would see. " She reached for her phone looking through her music, Finding the right song, she placed her phone next to the lamp, reaching for him and lifting him into her arms.
Hayden's eyes brightened as one of his favourite song filled the room. You belong to me by Taylor Swift.
Hailey's eyes sparkled with joy as Hayden began singing loudly. She joined in as she began moving them to the beat of the music.
Soon their laughter rose above the music, Hailey placed Hayden back onto the ground and they started jumping around the room without a care in the world.
The both dropped onto the bed as the song came to an end, their laughter still echoing around the room.
Hailey turned to look at Hayden's happy face. "I love you baby." She said, brushing his hair lightly of his face.
"I love you too mommy." he gushed, hugging onto her side.
As their hearts calmed and they closed their eyes, Hailey smiled to herself. If all the bumps of her life brought her to this moment then words would not be enough to express her joy.... it was if she has been sleeping all this time and at this moment she has finally taken her first breath of energizing life.

Matthew POV
Hailey and Hayden's laughter travel from their room into his. A broad smile spread across his face at this. Such a small sound can mean so much... Such a small sound can make a heartbeat quicken with happiness.
He wanted so bad to believe that this happiness was because of him.... but as he looked at his reflection in the mirror as he changed, he realized that the happiness he felt was because of them. Maybe they all give each other something in return.... Something to look forward to. A brighter day perhaps....
Hailey has changed so much for him and in him that he himself could not believe or recognize the man he has become.... At this moment. He could truly say he was happy with his life...no matter what the future holds.....
He wanted and hoped for so much for them....if only....
A stabbing pain erupted in his chest, causing his face to twist painfully as his hand shot up to clench his chest. Before he could let out a sound, he dropped to his knees until his back was resting on the cold floor.
"Matthew!" He heard his mother scream, from his door way. The tea cup she held in her hand slipped of it, clashing with the ground making a loud sound.
"Mom." He gasped reaching a hand towards her as darkness finally consumed him.
