Hailey POV
Merry held her hands as they walked through the doors of the hospital. Hailey's eyes stayed on the floor, to think all she had was now there....all her dreams of her and Matthew shattered. She felt lost... even her heartbeat felt unreal, not hers.
So many things has happened in the short space of a few hours that she found her mind spinning.
Raising her eyes to where Merry's hand held hers, she could not stop her mind from wondering
Remembering the first day her eyes met Matthew....
The day she saw him standing on the balcony of his house....
Things were perfect....he was perfect.
And now....her entire world was crashing around her....proving that 'perfect' is not real... She once thought that Matthew belonged to her and she to him but life has another plan.
The woman holding onto her was about to do something no one has ever done.... how could she live with herself knowing this? How could she forgive herself....when she knows Matthew never will...
People say everything has a limit, just as someone who is born must die or just as something that goes up must come down....so how is it possible that Merry found a way to break this philosophy? She was proving to herself and to everyone around her that there was no bounds or barriers when it comes to love....
"Doctor. This is my daughter Hailey, she will be in charge from now on....if anything goes wrong she would have the first say." Merry informed the middle aged doctor who stood in front of them.
The doctor nod "Are you sure that this is what you want to do?" He asked Merry, looking at her closely.
"Yes." Merry answered firmly. The doctor nod again leaving them.
Merry turned to Hailey, gripping her by the shoulders. " I need you to be strong my dear...My son would need a firm foundation to stand on...I need him to find that in you."
Hailey bit her lips, fighting back her tears.
"You know... it is funny to think that at first I thought that my son was helping you but now I realize that it is you who is helping us..." Merry said hugging her. "You are a daughter any mother would be proud of.... I am happy that I got the chance to know you my dear... Please stay as strong as you are. Let no one and nothing prevent you for fighting what you want in life... I know you would make me proud." Merry began loosening Hailey from the hug when Hailey's hands quickly moved up,around her body and holding her tightly in place as a small whimper escaped her mouth.
"No my dear." Merry said, moving away until they were facing each other. Lifting her hand she wiped away Hailey's tears while shaking her head 'no'. "You need to be strong....be my strength." Hailey nod at this. Taking a deep calming breath and forcing the rest of her tears away.
"I love you my dear." Merry smiled, her eyes glowing as tears filled them.
"I love you to..." Hailey whispered, hugging her again... for the last time.

Matthew POV
"Mom." Matthew smiled, relieved, the moment his mother walked through the door.
"Hey honey." Merry smiled. Matthew's eyes narrowed a bit noticing that her smile did not reach her eyes.
"What's wrong mom...were you able to find Hailey?" He asked, thinking his mother was sad because of how things turned out with Hailey.
"Yes honey... she is waiting outside."
Matthew smiled, thankfully. He knew his mother would be successful.
"Mom you would not believe what happened." Matthew beamed, unable to hold in his excitement any longer. "They found a heart for me! They would be here shortly to carry to to the operation room."
"Really?" Merry asked in surprise. "Oh honey I am so happy." She embraced him as tears began rolling down her cheeks.
"Mr. Stone." The doctor called, appearing at the door. "We are ready for you..." Two nurses walked into the room, helping Matthew to lay back down on the bed before rolling him out of the room.
Merry walked beside him, holding onto his hands. "I love you son...no matter what happens, know that I would always be here for you...."
Matthew smiled up at his mother. He truly had the world's best mother. "I love you too mom."
They held hands until they were forced to let go, even then they both kept looking at each other for as long as they can. Matthew felt a sudden panic when his mother swiftly pulled her gaze away from him as the door finally closed, shutting the world out.
Again his mind told him that something was wrong....
Taking a calming breath he lay his head on the bed trying to clear his mind.
"Please let nothing go wrong." Matthew whispered as he closed his eyes, dropping into a deep sleep.

Merry POV
She tried with all her might to keep looking at her baby. This was the last time she would ever see him... she wanted it to be her most cherished last memory. But as the doors began closing, her eyes failed her. Forcing Matthew to not see her afraid, she had to turn away from him.
Covering her mouth with her hands, she closed her eyes as she sobbed.
"Miss. Stone." She heard her doctor call. Wiping away her tears quickly she turned to him. "We are ready for you." He said, looking at her with sad eyes.
"Good." She smiled. Beginning to step forward, stopping when his hand raised up gripping her arm. Her eyes lifted until they met with his.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" The doctor asked again.
Merry's breath shook unsteadily as she exhaled. "I am."
