Syler POV

He smiled at Hailey as she finally stopped objecting to his touch, making her sway to the music with him. He felt empowered. Finally she was beginning to understand where she stood in the world, silently in his arms, moving to his rhythm. Soon he was going to make her his.... to think he had his own personal stripper made his blood boil with excitement.

He could not help but allow a proud smirk to appear on his face. It was about time she found out who he really was... Feeling the warmth radiate out of her body and onto his was somewhat empowering, fueling his power and authority on her.

Suddenly she was yanked away from his arms, as a hand pushed him away. His first instinct was to violently attack the person who dared to disturb him but as he turned towards that very person, he stopped himself.

"What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Matthew spat, as his eyes shot daggers at him.

Syler's eyes drifted from Matthew towards Hailey, finding her clinging onto Matthew as if it was for dear life. He tilted his head slightly....it seems as if she has not yet learnt her place.

Turning back to face Matthew, he hid his laughter as an idea popped into his head. Such a naive weak man!

"I- we are dancing....like everyone else." Syler motioned around the room, making sure Matthew remembered where they were. He looked on as recognition flooded Matthew's face. Weak.

Matthew turned to him, taking a step forward so that no one could hear them. You know exactly what I am talking about.... I am warning you Syler. Stay away from Hailey." Matthew looked him directly in the eye.

Syler attempted to take a step forward as well, stumbling a little. Matthew's empty hand shot out, steadying him, preventing him from falling. "I did not do anything wrong..." He spoke.

Matthew's face twisted unpleasantly as he smelt the alcohol on his breathe. This caused him to look at him understandingly.

"You are drunk?" Matthew asked, as if he needed to hear him say it to be sure."

"Drunk?" Syler laughed, wobbling a little again. "Of course not, the night is still young."

Matthew shook his head as if not believing him. "I am leaving now. I will call a cab for you."

Syler smiled weakly, standing back as Matthew walked past him, pulling Hailey with him. He looked on as they walked away. Before they exited the door, Hailey looked over her shoulder at him. The moment their eyes connected, he straightened his posture, giving her a wink as a smirk appeared on his lips. She looked away quickly, hugging Matthew tighter.

See you soon gorgeous.

Matthew was so gullible. Seeing Matthew's reaction only made this game more interesting....

Turning on his heels he made his way towards the bar. He may not be going home with her tonight but surely he would not be going home alone....

Hailey POV

"Where were you?" Hailey whispered the moment they were in the car and driving away.

She turned her body to face Matthew, just in time to notice him tightening his grip on the steering wheel. It took a few moments for him to reply.

"I...was...meeting with an old acquaintance." He replied without removing his gaze from the road.

For some reason she felt a shiver run down her back.... Was he lying to her? Shaking her head, she pushed her doubt to the back of her mind, thinking she was silly to think so. What would Matthew gain from lying to her anyway.

Turning her attention back to her window, her mind drifted back to their kiss making her cheeks grow red as she blushed... He was so sweet and tender to her making her wish that it had lasted longer. Was she silly to wish it had?

Feeling a growing warmth on her leg, she looked down in surprise to find Matthew's hand resting on it. Had she been so in thought that she lost conscious of the present. He began making small circular movements with his thumb which caused her already flushed cheeks to deepen.

Looking over at him nervously, she saw him looking back at her with a small smile playing on his lips.

"Did you enjoy your night?" He asked curiously.

This caused her to drop her gaze immediately as she remembered the way Syler treated her. Her eyebrows knitted together. Why did he act that way?

"Hey." Matthew said, making her look at him. "Don't worry about Syler. He was not himself."

She nod and looked away, trying with every atom of her body to believe his words but as she remembered the way Syler had smiled at her as they left only proved that he was definitely himself.... Which only left a frightening thought that his real self might be more dangerous than Matthew can even begin to understand.

"I'm sorry." Matthew said again. "I am sorry if he hurt you. I would never leave you like that again."

Hearing Matthew say these words made her grow warm inside. The area where Syler had held felt sore but hearing Matthew say these words made her smile inside. Maybe things would be better from here on. Maybe Matthew and her can find a way to continue what they had started....

As she looked out at the city as they passed by, she felt contented with the way her life was going... contented to be here, sitting beside the man who she once disliked but now beginning to love.

She did not know what else was to come, but for this moment she could sit back and close her eyes, feeling comfort in knowing that their was someone... someone who she was beginning to think belonged to her....
