"What's wrong?" Brendan asked me.
"I had a long weekend and I don't feel well at all." I said running my hand threw my hair.
"You didn't have to come to work today, you could have stayed home." He said as he rubbed my back.
"I would have, but I'm not working at the end of the month, so I don't want to use my leave."
"Why aren't you working?" He asked.
"My family and I are going on a cruise with a few other people that we've had planned for over a year now. I talked to Kevin about it and he let me take off as long as I don't use my leave." I explained.
"Oh that's cool. Where are you going?" Wow, he loves asking questions.
"I'm not sure. I don't find out until I get onto the plane." I laughed.
"Well have fun, but we need to get back to work miss."
I sighed as I got up from the chair in the break room and walked back into my office setting to do my work. I literally answer emails and phone calls and then go to meetings every other day and this is the most pointless job, yet easiest job I've ever had... Considering I've only had one other job and that was coaching.
Besides that, I feel like complete shit. After Saturday, I've been getting really dizzy and nauseous at times and all I want to do is sleep. I slept all day yesterday after Rob dropped me off at home and hoped to feel better than I did, but that didn't work. I look, sound, and feel crappy and I can't leave work at all.
It was around 2pm when things started to get a lot worse. I got a really bad headache and it's causing the back of my eyes to hurt. I use to get really bad headaches like this a few years ago and they always resulted in me crying in pain.
"Sydney, get back to work." I heard Kevin say from outside my office door.
"It's all done, sir." I said without lifting my heard from the desk.
"What's wrong there Sydney? You okay?" He asked me.
"No, I don't feel well."
"Do you want to sleep on the couch in my office? You're done with your work and I won't be leaving until 7 or 8 if you want to take a nap or something since you can't leave." He suggested.
"I'll think about it, thank you." I smiled to him.
"Okay, well I'm going to bring you water."
He closed the door and I took my shoes and jacket off because it started to get really hot in here. Kevin soon came back into my office and set the bottle of water on my desk.
"Here, drink half of this and take two advils and then eat this banana. If you don't feel better within an hour, page me or something."
I sighed as he walked back out of my office and I did as told. And yes, I know, "why are you taking pills from your boss after what happened to you over the weekend?!?" crazy right? I mean, if he really wanted to kill one of his workers and lose his job too, he would have done that already, so I trust him. I stay after work everyday to complete everything and even get a head start on the next days work, kinda like what I did on Friday which resulted in me being done early.
