Ch 46

We were late on the first day of school

Me and Gabriel walked down the empty halls that I did not miss at all. The familiar smell of sweat, blood and tears surrounded us

Our schedules were mailed two days before, after a glance at Gabriel's I learned we shared the same elective: boxing, not my first choice but hopefully it will help me get rid of this baby fat

Unlike last year, this year the classes were with different people which had both it's benefits and It's disadvantages

Trent was no longer in the school, in any school. He destroyed the whole dentist idea and decided to travel the world. I was surprised at how thoroughly he planned it, knowing Trent. He would begin in NYC, then Florida, backpack through Mexico, Disney Land in California, Alaska then, after that is when he would leave the continent, he's gonna go to Hawii, Hong Kong, Australia, Greece the list just kept going

I envied his ability to just escape it all
Gabriel walked me until we reached the door of my first class, with a deep breath I opened it

The first thing that caught my attention were haunting blue eyes, the same one that mixed with- 

My breath escaped me, Aiden

Everyone in the room silenced, I didn't know if it was because I was late or it was just me 

My reputation precedes me I see

He looked older, his jaw angular, his arms and shoulders muscular, and he even looked taller from where he sat and I looked fat in full school uniform down to my fully black oxfords but it didn't matter I had two damn children, thanks to the babysitter though I look well rested

I looked away first, it took all my will power but I did it. His continuing gaze burnt a hole in my skin

The safest place from him was the furthest. That way I can pretend that he hasn't explored the most intimate parts of my body on a dare and ruined any chance I had at a successful happy highschool experience

With this in mind I sat in the front closest to the door on the right

The tension in the air was sickening, and I know between the frequent glances and hushed whispers that I was not the only one who felt it

By the time the bell rang I was happy to go into elective

Gabriel was already there when I walked in, I let out a sigh of relief and rushed to take a seat behind him. I offered him a small smile and was surprised when he returned it

Lunch was undoubtedly the worst, my eyes scanned the lunchroom hungrily looking for a familiar, and welcoming face. Without Trent I was left the fend for myself 

I couldn't help but looking towards Aiden, He talked excitedly as a million words flew from his mouth and all the listeners engaged 

I looked away walking towards an empty booth in the furthest corner

Freshmans sat around, some alone like me, some already clumped in their groups of friends

Gabriel glanced at me once then twice but never moved

I was about to just head up to the library when a freshman sat in front of me

She stared at me with gleeful curiosity. Her eyes were almond shaped, giving off a middle eastern feel all the way down to her pointed nose and small lips. She kept looking at me and kept looking until I snapped

"What do you want?" I spoke, her staring making me feel slightly,just slightly, self conscious

"To sit" she said, her hands were entwined under the table

"Ok" I told her fixing my posture "just stop staring at me"

She nodded then looked away instead her eyes fell over to a freshman boy walking towards us

He took a seat besides the girl and introduced himself with a bright smile "hi, I'm Steven" his brown shaggy hair hung out from under his snapback that was worn the other way

Why are all these freshman's coming over here?

I was just about to get up when Gabriel took a seat beside me

"Hey! Gabriel?" Steven smiled and rested his elbows on the table

"Steven" Gabriel put his elbows on the table "why are you here?"

"I just wanted to see her" Steven replied then glanced at me briefly

"You saw her, now leave" Gabriel ordered

"I just-" Steven began but then was cut off

"I said leave" Gabriel interjected leaning back into the booth and resting his arm on the top of the booth behind me

"Fine" Steven stood up from the table and opened his mouth as if to talk again

"Leave" Gabriel said once more and Steven was on his way

"What are you doing here?" I asked him

"Stay away from him, he's trouble" Gabriel ran a hand through his hair and I watched mesmerized as every single silky peace touched his hand each reflecting the light above us

I want to touch that hair

"Some-some would say the same about me" I stuttered as Gabriel looked at me, with those eyes, those goddamn eyes

My hormones were slowly rising, his lips looked enticing and his eyes...they did things to me

What the hell?

He opened his mouth to talk then I wondered what else his mouth can do "you don't compare to him" he said, I hanged onto every word that his voice said

I snapped out of my teenage hormone induced stage to reply "do you? I mean you sound like you know him pretty well" I asked

Gabriel retracted his hand from my seat and stood up "Don't talk to him" then left

I frowned, I have two kids I think I can know who I can and can't talk to

"Well that was awkward" I noticed now that the girl was still sitting there "I'm Mika by the way"

"I'm Tiffany" I said then regretted it "but you can call me Tif"

New school year, new students, new identity with these freshmans

On that note, what was the other freshman talking about? I just wanted to see her

Okay guys I would have updated earlier if had not my phone died (where I do all the writing and updating) then my charger started acting up so I left it overnight to charge and updated at the earliest point I could

It's 6 AM, I don't even have to wake up till like 7:20 but I had to get this chapter updated so I don't regret a thing 

The end is near, and it's coming very very...nope not gonna say anything
