-Learn that anorexia is a disease not a diet

- Start to eat at least 2 small meals a day. (Morning and evening) then transcend to 3 (morning, afternoon, evening) then again transcend to adding snacks in between.

- Remember you don't have to specifically eat anything. Just eat.

-  Ask for help (ask primary Doctor, school counselor or nurse, or call national toll free hotline at 1-800-431-2237

-Wear clothes you feel comfortable in

- Stay away from fashion magazine and weight scales

- Join a support group ( to find one ask Doctor, therapist, local hospital, local university, school counseling office or center, eating disorder center or search the National Eating Disorders association site

-Write in a journal on how you feel about the situation

- Stay away from what triggers you to stop eating
