"Thanks, Harry.", I smiled weakly at him. "You don't have to do that."
"You're wrong.", he replied looking between street and me back and forth. "I couldn't see you going alone in the cold to school."
"I wouldn't have died.", I leaned my head against the window. "Why are you taking this street? Your school way is another or not?"
"Elena called me ten minutes ago begging me to drive this way.", he thought.
"Why?", I furrowed my forehead now looking back at him.
"She said the other road is covered with ice and not safe in this season."
"Oh.", I nodded in agreement. "Very thoughtful of her."
"Had I taken the other way I wouldn't have seen you on the street and you wouldn't be with me now.", he winked smiling.
"We should thank her when we see her.", I giggled feeling cozy now that the warmth flooded me, but not only that:
Whenever Harry was around me, I felt immediately better. I felt safe and comfortable when he was there. I didn't want him to leave. But I couldn't tell him the truth without occurring me stupid. I – after all – didn't know what he thought of me and if he thought the same of me as I of him.
"What are you doing after school?", I hesitated softly taking a deep breath waiting for his answer.
"Maybe taking a beautiful girl home with me?", he suggested. "And you?"
"Maybe going with a sweet boy home.", I thought.
"Sounds great."
I didn't spoke to my father all three days. On the third day I knew by Lauren that he would pick us up and prepared myself all day long on it. It had become a tradition that Harry and I said goodbye at the end, which meant that my father would see that.
I didn't know how he would take the harmless hug. Lauren and my class were today the last at school. Amy and Alex would have to wait, but that was okay for them. Then they were able to do their homework.
But something else prepared me worries. Lauren didn't spoke much with me in the last two breaks. She always spoke to me.
The last hour we had with Alaric, my attention and concentration was all in the basement. I kept looking nervously at the clock, hoping that the hour was over. But the minutes passed in slow motion. Elena, Caroline, Stefan and Harry threw me alternately glances. Harry sat next to me and was able to ask what was wrong with me, I shook my head again and insisted that I was fine.
Finally, when we had individual work on, I hastened to Mr. Saltzman and said softly: "I have to go to my sister. I know that isn't a reason to leave the class, but she is on her own and there is something wrong there... Doesn't take long, I promise."
He didn't think very long about it, but glanced in the class and then nodded: "You can go."
"Thank you.", I sighed in relief and hurried as fast from the class through the hallways as I could; and ran straight into someone.
"I'm sorry, I ..", the person sobbed when I saw down at her.
"That's okay ... Lauren? What's going on?"
Harry P.O.V.
He saw Lisa until she disappeared from view in the hallway. A stricken quarters of an hour, he sat there and couldn't concentrate on his work. He worried where she was going and he also hadn't understood what she had said to her teacher.
When the door opened again, he looked up and bit back immediately a sigh of relief. But at the same time he frowned because her face expression was now completely changed. She went targeted at Mr. Saltzman and leaned her forearms on his desk. He leaned toward her for understanding her speech better. He listened to her first and then nodded in agreement as it seemed. When she returned to her seat, he realized that she wouldn't sat down, no she began to pack her things.
"What's wrong?", he asked frowning as she turned to him.
"I'll explain later, okay? I'll call you.", she leaned toward him.
"All right. But are you all right?"
"Yes.", she smiled and kissed his cheek before picking up her bag and jacket and left the room.
A little later the school bell rang at the end of hours and they packed up their things.
"Did she say anything to you?", Bonnie asked when he stepped to the four.
"No. We want to phone. I think she'll then explain.", he sighed worried.
"We should hurry.", Stefan urged at once.
"I suppose you want to go home?", Bonnie laughed.
"Rather less.", Elena shook her head and nodded to Mr. Saltzman lightly as Harry could see.
"Something wrong?", Harry frowned.
"That is probably out equal.", Caroline bit her lip and followed the other.
Harry hurried beside them as they accelerated toward the exit.
Where he already could guess what was going on at the campus before school. Loud voices tangle penetrated his ears before he left the hall. And he could recognize a voice.

FanfictionAs he stopped after some time of walking, I heard him saying quietly: »You don't need to be afraid, okay?« »I'm not afraid. You're with me.«, I whispered as he introduced me to my feet, holding me as I leaned against him. Now, a smile spread across...
