I wanted to stay with Lauren. I didn't want to leave Christina so soon. I had her only non-countable minutes back. But I knew why Jo was here, why - whoever - had called her.

So I solved my hands off of Christina hers and turned to Lauren, leaned my upper body down to her and whispered in her ear: "I'll find the person who has approached you. I'll take care that he gets the punishment he deserves, I promise. You have to be strong, you hear me? You can't give up. I'm back and I'm going to fight. You will do the same, do you understand me? I'm not going to watch how you die. I'm sorry, that I was gone. And when you hear that, let me tell you: I love you and nothing in the whole world will be able to change that, not even the fact that I had to go. I was and will always be there for you. You have to try - get healthy and wake up when the time comes. I'll come back."

I kissed her forehead and stroked a stray strand of her face. Finally, I stroked her cheek and got up again, turned to Christina, who had been watching me.

"Now go to your investigation.", she whispered.

"Don't argue with Dad, okay?", I begged her. "You have to stick together now."

"Go now. I'm fine.", she smiled and followed me to the door, which was opened by Jo, who let us into the hallway.

I looked in the direction of the other, who now turned to us. But my eyes flew down the hall, where my parents stood aside. Dad didn't look at me, but Mom. She looked sad and dejected. First she saw me, she wanted to take a step towards me; but Dad stopped her.

"There comes a moment in your life that can change everything. But that don't mean the end.", Christina said, what made me look at her.

"When did you go under the poet?", I smiled slightly. "Did Katherine infected you?"

"It helps in many situations.", she said softly.

"Tell that our father."

"Give him a book, okay?", I added.

"A library.", she winked. "We phone, okay? And if something is, I would like to know."

I nodded and returned the kiss on the cheek after I said urgently lying one hand on her arm: "It would be better if you go home now. I don't want - that anything happen to you, too."

"I'm - fine.", Christina nodded unsure.

"Take them home.", I turned to Nick, who hugged me tightly.

"Don't worry. I am a good driver. "

"I know that.", I reminded him. "But there aren't all so accommodating."

"You'd better take care of yourself. You are pale and don't look really healthy.", he shook his head.

"I'll handle this.", Jo replied and appeared diagonally behind me. "We should go then."

I saw from Nick one last time to Lauren, then to my parents and finally to Christina. "See you."

"We will."

Jo took my arm into her's and finally pulled me with her.

"If we are honestly, okay? Mr. Cimorelli you are -", but I heard Caroline's voice no longer than two corridors because then we disappeared through a further corridor.

"I'm sorry, what happened to your sister.", Jo said sympathetically. "But I have a feeling that you suspect anything other than an accident?"

"Oh yes.", I nodded. "And if my guess confirmed, he is due."
