  Day 7 ~
"Who's your tutor next year?" "Mr Harvey, can't be any worse than Miss Collins this year." Amy rolled her eyes as she walked slowly alongside Grace. "Do you think we'll have some classes together this year?" "I hope so. I really hope that I don't have to be with Emily again."

Amy stopped walking causing Grace to turn to her. "Is she saying things again?" "No... Yes. But don't tell Mum, please. She'll just get angry and I don't want her to get like that again." The girls continued walking quietly towards the lake.

They sat down together flicking through their phones turning them to one another at various points and laughing. "What do you think it will be?" "Huh?" Amy laughed pointing to a picture on Grace's phone. "Your Mum's baby-" "I think it'll be a baby."

Amy rolled her eyes nudging Grace. "You're so like your Mum it's scary Grace... I mean a boy or a girl." "I hope its a boy, so Charlie has someone else to play with but I don't really mind. I know Mum wants a little girl, and I'm pretty sure Jacob does too."

Grace noticed another picture on her phone turning it to Amy. "Do you think Cal and Alicia will have a baby? I mean they look really happy." Amy shrugged smiling at the photo on Grace's timeline. "I guess they might-" "They won't forget about you, you know."

Amy looked up to Grace who shuffled closer. "I was scared that when the baby came everyone would forget about me, that Jacob would love me less because I'm not his. But that didn't happen, in fact he takes me out more now to give Mum time to rest."

Grace placed her hand on top of Amy's with a smile. "But you have your Mum. I don't even have one anymore, I'm just on my own... If Cal and Alicia have a baby who'll want me?"

"Me. I'll still want you around. You're like the sister I always wanted. My Mum and Jacob will always want you around because you keep me out of trouble. Charlie loves playing with you. Ethan will still want a friend at football, and I know that Cal and Alicia will always want you."

Amy shook her head. "You don't know that-" "I do. I heard them talking about it. They love you Amy and I might have heard them say something else." She lifted her head up to Grace waiting eagerly for her to speak. "What!?" "You have to promise not to say-" "I promise."

Grace smiled leaning closer, not that there was anyone around them. "I heard them talking about you living with them, all the time. It would mean you were always down the road from me and you could always come over." The girls hugged each other smiling before noticing Charlie running towards them.

"Come on." Grace pushed her gently before standing up and pulling her hand running to meet Charlie half way. "Morning girls-" "Hey Mum." "Hi Connie." Amy accepted a hug from her while Grace was spinning around with Charlie.

"So what have you girls been gossiping about all day?" Amy looked towards Grace quietly as she returned the look. "Girls?" Connie raised a perfectly arched eyebrow watching them. "Grace likes Tom from our class-" "Do not!" "Do too!"

Amy started running while laughing as Grace ran after her. "Amy! That was not fair!" Connie stood back watching before lifting Charlie up from the ground. "What's gotten into your sister hey?" They watched as the girls continued chasing each other around shouting things to one another.

An hour later and Jacob was stepping out onto the porch. "Lunch is ready!" Connie moved back up to the house while Grace and Amy bumped into each other before walking closely together towards the cabin. "Mum would be first back for the food."

Grace didn't realise how loudly she'd spoken until she looked up to see Connie standing with her hands on her hips watching her. "Grace Beauchamp-" "Mum I'm sorry-" "I suggest you start running missy."

With that she sprinted off from Amy as Connie started after her. Charlie wandered happily up to Amy who picked him up giving him a piggy back to the cabin. Grace ran inside narrowly missing Cal who lifted his hands in shock before seeing Connie following.

"Grace!" "I take it back Mum!" Her laughter resonated as she ran past Alicia hiding behind the table. Connie stood facing her dashing after her as they headed to the kitchen, Charlie had to jump aside as they hurtled past.

"Jacob help me!" "Grace? Woah..." The young girl zoomed past him as Connie ran around following her. He reached out as he stepped forwards catching Connie's hands stopping her from moving. "Woah sweet cheeks-" "Jaaaacooooob." Connie whined in protest as Grace stuck out her tongue while Jacob held onto her.

When she didn't stop complaining he leant down placing his lips onto hers taking her by surprise. Connie's hands were resting on his shoulders as she leant backwards while he kissed her. "Nice distraction techniques Jacob-" "So I've been told once this week already firecracker." Connie responded by punching his chest before starting after Grace again.

Grace ran back out of the cabin jumping the steps as she laughed. Connie was close behind her as she wrapped her arms around her daughter's waist lifting her up. "Mum!" Grace's laughter became louder as Connie tickled her until they both fell down to the floor laughing.

Jacob stood with Charlie watching with smiles at the girls. Amy soon ran to Grace's aid but Connie got the upper hand as she wrapped an arm around Amy too. "I don't think I've ever seen her so carefree. She really is happy." Jacob nodded with a smile towards the older nurse. "I know, I can't believe how happy she makes me too."

Alicia and Cal were sat down with Charlie when the girls returned to the table. "Finished?" Grace and Amy nodded as they sat down watching Jacob and Charlie join them at the table. Everyone began to eat before Connie spoke up. "Oh one thing, Grace who's Tom?"

Jacob's eyes lifted to the miniature Beauchamp who was beginning to flush a deep shade of crimson. "Just a boy from school-" "Grace? What are you doing talking to boys? Hey! Where'd you think you're going?" Connie laughed as Jacob played the big concerned father act as Grace moved from the table.

"Come back here you!" Jacob followed her leaving the table abruptly running after her as Connie watched laughing. "Grace, boys should not be on your mind!" "They're not!" "Then who's Tom?" "A FRIEND!" Jacob ran after Grace. "And that's what I used to call your Mum-" "Jacob!" Connie watched on slightly shocked leaving Cal and Alicia holding back laughter. "Don't." She pointed at the pair of them before they burst out laughing.

Jacob continued to chase Grace laughing while Connie got over his comments. "Never a dull day with you lot is it?" "Oh don't you start too Charlie." Alicia laughed louder having to leave the table. "Some lunch this turned out to be then..." Amy smiled as she watched everyone around her. Maybe Grace was right, she didn't need to have her Mum to have a family who loved her.
