But as the title says, this rant is about Kagekao.
If you don't know who this character is, he is a Japanese creepypasta. Well, he didn't originate from the Japanese culture, he is just Japanese and speaks only Japanese.
You can find and read his story easily; you don't have to go digging. It's pretty interesting. Not too rushed, not too flashy with gore, and no over used cliches (at least none that I clearly remember). Kagekao is an interesting character all around.
He generally looks like this:

A quick run down of his character:
He is a demon/non-human creature but does have a human appearance. He wears black and white, his mask's expression changes based on his mood, he has retractable claws, can change his voice to match the voice of others, can bend his limbs in impossible directions and, as weird as this may sound, he loves drinking wine.
He is a playful creature and likes to play tricks on his victims. He messes with them and slowly drives them into a frustrating anxiety, to which he finds amusing. Because of his ability to change his voice, he can trick victims by pretending to be someone else. Because of his weird-ass bendable limbs, he is agile and it all around adds to his creep factor. Because of his claws, he can slash his victims in a similar fashion of that of a wild animal. His signature is carving the kanji for 'BORING' on his victims. This is most likely why he kills people, because he eventually gets bored with them. To be honest, he sounds like a friggin brat, but that's what I love about him.
I must also mention he is able to scale walls and crawl across ceilings.

It's pretty obvious that Kagekao is one of my favorite creepypastas. Not because he's Japanese (that is also why but not the main reason why), but because he is different from the gory, mainstream creepypastas that we've all come to know. No offense to the other characters, but every "headcannon" CP has their big bouts of gore. (Ticci Toby can be off the hook because his origin story was actually very well paced and I give props to his creator).
Kagekao isn't about watching as his victims' entrails leak out over the floor, or enjoying the sweet taste of blood. His main thing is having fun manipulating victims and causing them grief. He's like a little kid, only deadlier and smarter. He's like Sally, but he's more intelligent and keen about what he wants and how he wants to play. Of course, he can rip people to shreds, but he doesn't take as much joy from that as breaking those people down to their weakest.
