Ayyyyeeeeeeeeeee.

Welcome to my sixth story idea.~

I haven't done this in a while, and I think it's time I do.

To be honest, I've been iffy about sharing this story idea because it's been one that I've had ever since I was, like, eleven years old and I was always subconsciously worried about sharing it with the world. It's like my child that I've been putting off for YEARS because I got busy writing fanfiction instead. I think it's good that I took a long break from writing that story, because now that I think back on it, it would've sucked a lot of ass had I not worked on my writing using KP and C&B and more.

Now that I'm a much better writer than I was before, and now that I've gotten comfy going to more than friends for this kind of thing, allow me to share with you the golden boy that was my first, passionate story idea!!!

[Side Note: Since I've gotten better at story telling, a lot of the stuff I'm gonna explain is what I've tweaked from the original, because jfc it was shit.]

The basic premise behind this story is that, in our world, there are very special and unique people. Among what you could call Normals are people considered Handlers. Why are they called Handlers? Because within their being, they carry Second Souls (consider them just Souls). Handlers and Souls are like life partners: Souls are intertwined with the soul of a Handler and stay with them forever until one of them dies.

Souls stay dormant in a Handler, like a cancer--but a good kind. When it's time for the Soul to "hatch", they manifest as a human being and, from then on, have the ability to switch from a corporeal person to this orb of energy that can rest inside the Handler.

Also, Souls do not form out of thin air. They are people that have existed in the past and can become a Soul using a process that is Soul Transformation. Only special people with special souls can become a Second Soul, if that makes sense. Same goes for a Handler: if their bodies are capable of holding a Soul then they will have one. (Handlers have no choice in whether they want a Second Soul or not, but they are not heavily forced like Second Souls are.)

Once a person becomes a Soul, they are contained and left to be preserved until the perfect Handler is found for them. This can take years, even centuries, until their destined Handler is found and the two are paired. In this case, a modern-day Handler can have a Second Soul originally from the fourteenth century. Luckily, Handlers and Souls are paired when the Handler is of a very young age, which can allow the Soul to learn of the new world while they're dormant inside a developing Handler.

Why there's this entire system? I don't know. I still don't know what a purpose could be, other than that this all sounds super fuckin cool.

Now that the exposition has been set, meet the main character Matthias Vega, or just Matt. (His name used to just be Matthew, which isn't much of a difference, but I changed it to Matthias because I changed his ethnicity. Due to the fact that his last name is Vega, and because I wanted to include more racial representation, I was like, "He should probably be Hispanic, or something". So, fuck it, he's Hispanic--he used to be White.)

Matt is a sixteen year old struggling with his weird emotions that usually come from being a teen. He's very introverted, quiet, but can be hot headed at times and gets into fights. He's grown up always defending himself from ridicule and pressure so he tends to be cold, or downright rude to others. He lost his parents when he was seven-years-old, just old enough to be confused about it yet still feel guilt, which adds more to his angsty, mean personality.

His only guardian is his aunt (dad's sister), Thea (changed her name too because the old one was cringe. You don't wanna know). Thea is a pretty chill woman; young enough to be cool yet old enough to still be a good parental figure in Matt's life. She's the only one who can really understand the Angery™ child, and no other family really bothers with him. (He barely has family to begin with: there's no one from his mom's side, and people from his dad's side don't like him, except for Thea.)
