Chapter 33:
The Last of Her

''-- At least I hope you can find someone and even though you might be clueless as to who that someone is, I have a pretty good idea when talking about the green eyed brunette. I want you to be happy, Lincoln. No matter with whom, your happiness is mine as well. Never forget the love we have shared and the even better love you will find afterwards. Hopefully you won't find my goodbye insulting, I couldn't dare to stand in front of you and say my farewells. Let's just say that while on this trip, I will avenge the four hundred nights of sorrow we both have wasted. I wish you well and I hope this won't be the last thing you hear from me.

Scarlet ''

Lincoln frowned while reading a goodbye note of his first love but hopefully not the last. 'Green eyed brunette?' He questioned Scarlet's description before a loud thud awoke him from his thoughts. He surveyed the metal floor in which he was in, not catching a maker of the sound. A couple of seconds later, a glimpse of shiny brown hair caught his eye. He smirked, knowingly of who it was. He called her out by the name, Octavia and soon she stomped over to him with an embarrassed expression and a look which eyed the ground.

''What are you doing here Octavia?'' Lincoln lifted his eyebrow at her and smirked.

''I wanted to check up on you.'' Octavia said, blushing. Her almost red cheeks made him smile dearly.

''I'm fine, thank you.'' He responded kindly.

''If you need anything, I'll be outside.'' She said awkwardly but Lincoln soon stopped her.

''No, wait. Stay.'' He walked up to her and gave her a hand so she'd follow.

''Okay.'' She agreed immediately and they both sat at the only cozy corner of the ship.

CLARKE POV:

Bellamy asked to meet an hour ago, he sounded serious. I was supposed to meet him at the dropship in two minutes. I hurried inside and met him at the entrance of another room. I went for a kiss but he stepped away. I watched him in confusion as he stared at me deeply. I was scared to speak up as I thought of what come next if I did.

''Bellamy, what's wrong?'' I asked him while he watched me with hurt on his face.

''I-'' He took a deep breath. ''We can't keep doing this, we can't be us.''

''What?'' I asked him, my voice cracking.

''I'll just mess this up, I don't want you to have someone like me, I want you to have someone better. I don't deserve you, Clarke.'' He told me seriously.

''No, Bellamy. We deserve each other, you can't think like that.'' Tears filled my eyes as he tried to break us apart.

''You're wrong Clarke.'' He told me calmly.

''NO! YOU ARE WRONG TO DO THIS, DON'T- PLEASE, BELLAMY.'' I begged him to stop.

''I'm sorry Clarke, but I do wish to fulfill your needs over mine and what you need is definitely not me-''

''-But know that you'll always be the best of me, even though I wasn't of you.'' He told me and planted a soft kiss on my forehead. My face was already wet in tears, I was drowning in my own sobs and cries.

''This isn't over Bell-'' I told him in between those sobs, my voice cracked at each letter.

''I love you.'' I told him, catching his hand as he wanted to walk out. A small smile appeared on his lips.
