Chapter 37:
Breathe

Lincoln ran towards Bellamy who held Clarke in his trembling arms. Lincoln placed his muscular hand on Bell's shoulder for comfort when realizing what has happened to Clarke. They were too late, what an awful tragedy- or so Lincoln thought.

"You should let her go, Bellamy. " Lincoln spoke, full of sorrow.
"No- " Bell answered furiously.

He surveyed their surroundings. Bell noticed a a dirty cloth which covered a bottle with a clear, greenish substance and a huge syringe beneath the tree where Clarke has been unfairly tied up.
He took a note which was oddly glued to the glass bottle and read it aloud.

" As promised, the liquid in the bottle is an antidote for the girl. Game's not over yet.
I do kinda hope it was not too late, I'd like more time with her. She's feisty , that one.
Ontari. "

Bellamy quickly opened the bottle and stuck a syringe in the liquid. He looked up to the bright sky as he said a silent prayer and injected it in Clarke's leg.
"Come on, Clarke-" He begged.

" Bellamy! What the hell is going on, is Clarke oka-" Octavia came running towards her brother, she anxiously stopped in her tracks me taking a glimpse of her best friend in her brother's arms. O looked up to Lincoln who merely gave her a nod and took her in his embrace quickly. Octavia cried aloud, her tears quickly slipped down her firm cheeks. She took a hold of Lincoln's hand for balance and promptly walked over her hopeless brother.

"It was supposed to work- " Bellamy sobbed.

"Bell- " O started.

"The antidote O! It was supposed to work!" Bellamy yelled as he took Clarke's hand tightly in his.

"Bellamy- " Octavia smirked but Bellamy refused to open his eyes.

"Even if she had a weak pulse, the antidote wouldn't work. This is all my fault, O. She's gone because of me, because I was too stupid to realize what I've wanted- " He opened his eyes to look up at the sky, to keep the tears from escaping his eyes.

"BELLAMY!" Octavia yelled at his and moved his head towards Clarke's hands which he held.

Clarke's fingers twitched, Octavia and the rest smiled with happiness as Bellamy stayed looking at her with such anxiousness, he had just lost the glimmer of hope he had been so weakly kept leaning on but somehow that same hope was restored, his eyes shined with a special kind of love, lust and happiness. He genuinely smiled, she was the only one who could put him in such a state.

Her eyelids twitched as she groggily moved her head towards her right side.
"Clarke?" Bell whispered to her.

Clarke slowly opened her eyes while Bellamy sighted with happiness, tears of joy escaped his brown eyes. Clarke's eyes roamed her surroundings, she brought her hand towards her head-

"Ouch-" She tried to stand up but couldn't.

"Here, let me help you with that." Bell offered and helped her sit up, he leaned her body on the tree and took a couple of steps back. He was thrilled she was alive and well but could not look at her in the eyes, knowing he'd have to face the truth of how he hurt her.

Octavia ran towards her best friend and hugged her tightly.
"I thought you were gone for a second!" O told.

"So did I, but I'm glad I'm not." Clarke said weakly.

"If Bell didn't come on time, even that antidote wouldn't help you." O smirked.

"I guess so-" Clarke told insecurely.

Everyone had their turn with Clarke, even Lincoln and Miller, everyone but Bellamy. He walked over to her in shame and quietly told her, almost whispered;
"I'm glad you're okay, Clarke." He smiled and turned to walk away.

"Bell-" Clarke called out.

"Yeah?" He turned surprisingly with a weak smile on his toned lips.

"Thank you." She said quietly. She made him smile truly.

"You got it, Princess." He replied and walked away towards Miller.

Octavia helped Clarke up but due to the effectiveness of the antidote, she walked normally without any difficulties within a couple of minutes.

Everyone noticed the strange acting between Clarke and Bellamy, no one knew the full story but they all seemed it was for the best to not bother them about it. They've both been through too much for one day.

The group is faced with surprises within each day that comes, but today- they had enough of them. The day was hectic but contained a miracle not all thought could be possible.

The group proceeded to the camp and within the next 3 and a half hours, they shared a variety of smiles, laughs and grins. They reunited with Raven and Jasper at the center as agreed, they both had much fun listening to O's and Lincoln's parody of their previous events. Both O and Linc thought the two looked awfully suspicious somehow. What's that about? They'd sadly have to snoop some other time, today was all about Clarke-

A group threw a private party the following night for her, to show Clarke how much she's appreciated and how much they're all glad that this impossible miracle happened. She was indeed a walking miracle-

A little party never hurt nobody but it sure ended with a good amount of gossips-
