Fandom: Original Story

Name: Tarah "Paradox" Byrnes

That sounds cool.

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Species: Protection Android Designation T45-1

Description: [image provided: Abnormally tall with a strong, sturdy build and steel grey eyes with faint silver, circuit-looking markings surrounding the irises.  Her silver-dyed hair is shaved on the left side into bar-like patterning, while the left is cut short for "maximum combat efficiency" (she just thinks it looks cool, but will never admit this). The longer segments of her hair are darker grey. Her skin is decently pale but doesn't shift in pigment due to the lack of circulation of actual blood. Her combat attire consists of a black, single-piece jumpsuit with white glowing patterning throughout the suit. She has four straps adorning her arms, usually used for holding knives or similar weaponry. Her belt contains several grenades and other compact explosives. Her boots have smaller smoke grenades of various uses including tear gas, a thick smoke to choke enemies, or just a simple cloaking steam. She commonly wears a pair of combat glasses that allow her to scan an environment and include several different features such as inferred vision, subject vitals (both her own state and other agents in her team, who have been chipped), targeting assistance, and keeping her eyes from getting shot out.

Nicely described! Her looks fit with the theme of your story, which is always a great thing to have in a character.

Personality: Paradox has more than a little trouble dealing with emotions, her ability to express them often likened to a rock. She is cool-headed, rational, and extremely intelligent, often second guessing herself despite the fact that she is rarely wrong. Although she realizes her worth as an agent, she has difficulty realizing her potential in a non-professional environment. Hopelessly socially inept, Paradox often attempts to apply mathematical and statistical logic to situations that should usually be dealt with using one's emotional response. She is a machine built to learn from experience, and although she doesn't lack emotional responses, she has a tendency to discredit them in favor of reason. She is quick to assume the voice of rationality in a conversation and/or mission, but dislikes positions of ultimate power for fear of making the wrong decision. In spite of this, she can and will judge the one who is the leader for the choices they make. She possesses a stoic exterior and a turmoiled interior most of the time, frustrating her best friend as she tries (and fails) to be 'normal.' She tells puns that are either overcomplicated or nonsensical ("that was a rush-paced entry." "...What?" "Do you not get it? 'Rush' is a synonym for 'fast-'" "Yeah stop talking now.") Often attempts to cover up evidence of her mechanical nature, wearing long sleeves and collars to hide seams in her synthetic outer structure.

Her personality makes sense and would be interesting to read. It also allows for character devolpmemt. The possible banter between her and Jayce sounds like it would be entertaining and make readers enjoy their relationship and Paradox herself.

Likes: Her best friend Jayce (the mutant agent she was assigned to protect but soon befriended), busywork, having the solution to a problem, being correct, assisting others, coffee.

I'm curious about the nature of her and Jayce's friendship, and wish there was more detail about how they met and became friends.

Dislikes: Irrationality, when logical conclusions are incorrect, failure to grasp human/emotional concepts, failure in general, judgement, being stationary (always feels as if she has to be doing something, as she was programmed as an assistant), lacking an ability to do something.

Matches her personality and designated programming.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Paradox's mechanical nature allows for reaction times almost twice as fast as a normal human's and lightning-fast statistical decision making. She is able to access many databases and practically every document that has been released on the internet whether it's located through miles of encrypted files or in a thought-to-be-private email. Her eyes are essentially cameras and come equipped with facial scanners and the ability to zoom in to view far-away objects. She has no body heat and thus cannot be picked up by the usual thermal scanners. Her weaponry, however, does emit heat when active so she is only invisible to scanners when she is not in combat. She is vulnerable to pressure (ocean depths, space) and excessive amounts of electricity has the ability to shut her down, requiring reboot. This might damage her circuits, resulting in possible data loss (this does not necessarily mean that she will lose her memories, as she has a sort of "quick save" function where recent memories are periodically recorded every few hours so that they are protected given a shutdown). Can be hacked with time and knowledge.

Her strengths and weaknesses make sense and level each other out. This also adds more interest to see her in action, as well as how she functions.

Backstory: Paradox was the first successful android from the T45 designation of the Protector Project, a plan to assign an undercover defense droid to deployed inhumans in the field. The previous 44 iterations of the design quickly became defective, either failing to exhibit the ability to adapt human traits and personality or being unable to perform anything unless given prompts to do so. Paradox was one of three successful droids, the others being deployed to partner with other agents while Paradox was paired with Jay. They quickly became friends, working exceptionally well with one another despite their differences and eventually rose close to the top of their respective fields. Paradox eventually became aware of the fact that she was an android and after a brief scuffle at the HQ and several existential crises, she came to accept and use it to her advantage. The protector project was quickly shut down following the Ultron accident and no one knows who the other two droids were assigned to or if they are still in operation.

Nicely written and explains why she has trouble with emotions. Though what is the Ultron accident (Marvel's Ultron?). And out of curiosity, what is Jayce's mutation?

Powers/Abilities: See strengths and weaknesses. Possess no inhuman and/or supernatural powers.

Love interest: N/A

Other: Her nickname was coined by her partner Jayce after a conversation that began with "you aren't even alive. That joke was hilarious. Any live person with a soul would agree." To which she replied "I fill all classifications of a live being." Jayce remarked that she "would have to be a paradox, then." First she resented the nickname, but then grew to accept it.

Neat!!

This oc was pretty good. She was intriguing, unique (although I could see some of Agents of Shield stuff going on in there), and she was described well. I don't have much to say about her because she was a pretty good character. I'll defiantly be on the lookout for her book!
