I'm not the most familiar with this manga, so if I make a mistake please tell me.
Name: Marie-Rose Isabelle Claire Wyndham
Nice name.
Nicknames: Mimi, Rose, Ma Belle (by her mother)
Age: 14
She seems a bit young for all that political know-how she has. I don't know, maybe she's just really intelligent.
Gender: female
Species (if necessary): human
Description: She has curly silvery blonde hair and bright blue hawk like eyes with a slim, but feminine figure. She has a beauty mark on the left side of her nose and another under the corner of her lip, and one above her left breast where there's also a scar where she was playing with a dagger when she was little. Has a birthmark shaped roughly like a rabbit on her hip.
Personality: Unlike her timid mother, Marie is much more assertive and decisive. She's more sociable and brave, letting her head lead her more than her heart. A politician and patriot, she loves Midland more than her life and will do anything for her people. Although she loves her mother, she also has a bit of contempt for her for being weak and timid, also resentful for her distance and not revealing the identity of her father.
Likes: Fine gowns, embroidery, moonlit walks, council meetings, science, reading, anything that will help Midland. She also enjoys spending time with her mother.
Dislikes: She hates a lot of her mother's advisors, who only want to use the Queen and herself as a puppet to consolidate their own power, not caring a wit for their people. Greedy nobles, her mothers timidity and brooding, not knowing who her father is.
Strengths: Her political savvy, compassion and natural charisma that makes people want to rally behind her. She's also a natural orator and a decisive, swift leader.
Her strengths match her political know-how.
Weaknesses: Because she's often and easily annoyed, Marie is a bit if a hard ass. She's snapped at her mother and at other people in frustration, can be quite cold and ruthless when it comes to protecting her people. Traitors and rebels are not tolerated in her book, because she's so decisive she often fails to consider other options once she's made up her mind and little to nothing can dissuade her, even if it's not the best idea.
Most of these weakness would cause actual problems for her and provides space for character development.
Backstory: Princess Marie is the only daughter of Charlotte Wyndham, the Queen of Midland, and an unknown father. As the only defendant of the royal bloodline, she is heir to the throne, but many nobles don't believe her so. They call her a bastard and other things behind her back, but the ambitious nobles often try to get in her good graces, especially to marry their sons off to her in order to become king.
Midland seems corrupt here.
Charlotte, who became queen upon the death of her father, is a kind and polite person, but a weak and inefficient ruler. She hasn't any political experience at all, and so is a ripe target for her sharks of advisors. And the part that is to Marie's extreme chagrin is that she doesn't seem to want to change. Emotional, distant, and often talking about some "Band of the Hawk" that she often tells Marie as bedtime stories, especially their leader, Griffith, whom her mother seems to obsess over. However, Marie was never shown a single portrait of him nor has Charlotte ever reveled the identity of her father to her. Although she loves her mother, she also loves Midland, and is hurt every time she see signs of her country fading away. Under the tutoring of Lord Crassus Sulla, one of the few truly loyal nobles, Marie grew to be a savvy politician and decisive in action. She was actually trained to rule unlike her mother. When she turned fourteen she acted as an unofficial advisor, often begging her mother to shape up, but it seems Charlotte is more concerned with Griffith than ruling her people some days. Marie decided enough was enough, and has taken charge herself, even sometimes signing policies with the Queen's seal. On top of that, something is happening. Strange oddities have been happening all over Midland, monsters, full moons, and other ominous signs. Her mothers also been acting super weird, like she's not herself. Researching it feverishly, she still hasn't found a way to stop him.
Interesting.
One night, she finds a small chest in her mothers room, unlocking it she finds a small picture of a man in hawk armor with white hair. From descriptions she's heard, she figures this must be Griffith. However, she is floored by the startling resemblance he has to her, especially the shape and color of the eyes. Full of surprise, hurt, and fear, she is stunned for days before she decides to take action. Jumping at a chance to not only save Midland and her mother, but also find her father, she heads out on secret and begins a journey to find the Band of the Hawk, as well as some answers.
Close ties like this to a canon character is kind of Sueish, but it depends on how well you wrote the character and Griffith's relationship with her (I'm assuming they're going to meet).
Powers/abilities: none
Crush/Love Interest: None for now.
Alright, so overall, Marie is a pretty good oc. She doesn't have too many uninteresting traits and the plot you set for her story interested me, however, I didn't like Marie as a person very much. Some of her traits were pretty good, but others just made me dislike her and she seemed kind of ignorant to her privilege and the corruption, but she also kind of understood it. Moreover, this would make a good opportunity for Marie to learn while on her a journey to find Griffith and the Band of the Hawk.
Sue Rating: 5%
Originality Rating: 95%
Interest Grade: A
