INGREDIENTS
⚫2 cups all purpose flour
⚫½ cup granulated sugar
⚫2 tsp baking powder
⚫1 tsp baking soda
⚫1 tsp table salt
⚫2 tsp powdered cinnamon
⚫1 tsp powdered allspice
⚫1 cup buttermilk
⚫2 large eggs
⚫2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and cooled
⚫2 tsp vanilla
⚫1 cup chopped peeled apples,
⚫½ inch dice vegetable oil for fryingCinnamon Sugar
⚫¾ cup granulated sugar
⚫1 tbsp powdered cinnamon
⚫1 tsp nutmeg powderInstructions:
1.In a large bowl, whisk all ingredients together until well combined. Add in apples and fold gently to combine. Set aside
Note: Do not over mix n kill all air bubbles end results won't be that pleasing as they will cook but not fluffy inside2. In a medium size bowl mix the cinnamon sugar ingredients. Set aside
3. Put a large pot of oil over medium heat, while oil is heating prepare a wire rack or a wide plate with paper towel for the cooked fritter.
4. Once oil has heated up well use a spoon or ice cream scoop to drop the better into hot oil, don't overcrowd the pan oil temperature will cool down and ur fritters will soak too much oil.
5. Fry the fritters turning them until golden brown,transfer to a wire rack or a plate with paper towel to drain excess oil.
6. Fry the second batch and while second batch is frying coat the previous batch with cinnamon sugar and transfer to a serving plate. Repeat to finish all. Enjoy!
Note:
To get buttermilk mix a Tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to 1 cup of milk stir n let sit for five minutes. Use in ur recipe
To make sure u don't overmix the batter mix the dry and wet separately and then fold the two.
The batter should be of a dropping consistency
